    cpu stealing agression

    hey guys,

Does anyone know what this slider does? In my season with the phillies, I throw out probably more than half of my runners. Currently, I have cpu stealing agression at default + 5, do you think if I max out this slider, the cpu would have more success stealing bases??

I'll try it myself when i get home, but Im curious to know a definitive answer from anyone that has tested it .

    THanks a bunch

Increasing the slider causes the cpu to attempt more stolen bases, but doesn't necessarily mean that they will have more success at stealing them. It just makes them more aggressive with their attempts.

hmm isn't steal base FREQUENCY the slider that dictates how OFTEN the cpu steals ? I'm talking about the steal base aggression. But maybe you're right, maybe they both serve the same purpose....and nothing to do with success or maybe i got them backwards

Thanks for the response....and anyone with a definitive answer, please fill me in

Good point. Sounds like they both are almost one in the same. Maybe the frequency dictates how many attempts the normal baserunners that steal often, have and maybe the aggression dictates all baserunners. If a player already has a tendency to steal and does steal occasionally on the game, maybe the frequency slider will cause him to steal more. If a player normally doesn't steal, let's say a catcher for instance, then aggression may cause him to attempt stolen bases. That's just a guess. I'm not real sure but it seems to make sense.

I know there must be some way to reduce the number of double steals the CPU will try with nobody out.
I find it somewhat odd that Tampa Bay would actually try this with Ty Wigginton on 2nd and Carlos Pena on 1st (baserunning I mean, not defense)

            Re: cpu stealing agression

riz, ive been playing with auto baserunning, and default for every baserunning relationed slider, and i am getting very realistic numbers of SB...for me and for the cpu thats playing against me.
i have travis buck with 6 SB so far in 28 games...ok, he doenst steal almost at all in real life, but that is a problem with the reatings he has...he has a fairly high agression, which i ll problaby lower it...so thats why he attemps a lot in my chise..
also i have kendall, stewart and crosby with 1 . thats pretty much what the As do in real life, they dont run.

              thanks for the response bruno...

auto baserunning isn't an option for me since I enjoy running the bases so much heheh....the cpu now are doing much better in stealing ever since i lowered both huan/cpu strength to default -1

so, how are u liking this year's game man? past years games, you had trouble with unrealisitc box scores...how is it this year for you ?

No, he is wrong and you are right. Frequency controls how often. Aggression control how big of a lead they'll get. I know this is correct because I play Manage Only, and I have a tough time stealing any bases on default, even with Ryan Freel. With the slider bumped up a few notches, I am much more successful. They take bigger leads, hence Aggression, which will also dictate how often the CPU throws over.

                It's only a video game.

Thanks. The questions then becomes if you use Autobaserunning, does this slider work the Human Player too?

Thanks for clearing this up. I wasn't sure what the difference was.
