For example: all the players have attributes or caps for power, contact, vision, reaction, fielding, speed, etc.
Wouldn't the ideal way to play the game be to allow the actual caps of each player come into play and not influence play with sliders at all?
For example, if a pitcher has little movement on his changeup, wouldn't playing with the movement slider to zero reflect that his changeup is something you don't throw when behind in the count? Why boost it with movement slider? If he has little command of his fastball, why boost it with the command slider?
Player reaction. If a player is a poor fielder and has little reaction, why give him a boost with the fielder reaction slider?
If the CPU hitter has poor plate discipline why have the plate discipline slider up or down to add or deduct to his discipline. Shouldn't he chase a borderline pitch for strike 3 with this slider at zero?
If the answer turns out to be no, then the caps and attributes of each player has no bearing on the game which I find hard to believe. I will experiment to see how the game plays with most sliders at zero.
Just curious if anyone has done this. The problem is that I can no longer distinguish between playing with a good team or poor team.
