    Gameplay

I think this game plays great, I had 2K7 before the show and while it might look way better than the show the gameplay isn't even close. I just have three complaints and I was wondering if anyone might have suggestions. (1) Are there any HBP (hit by pitches) in this game, it seems to never happen. (2) with error frequency all the way up I still do not see balls get through or errant throws. (3) Does anyone else notice that like 80% of your hits seem to be right back up the middle?

HBP - rare, very rare indeed. I get some brush backs but no HBP.

Error slider maxed. You'll see some but not enough. You'll go stretches where you make no errors for several games.

Hits up the middle? - first, hits up the middle are the best hits. Even the announcer says after you hit it. "Hits up the middle means you made excellent contact."

Its the way the hitting machine is programmed. Perfect contact results in hits up the middle. Especially when you use power swing and get one over the CF fence.

Most of my hits up the middle come from using the 'x' button only and with 2 strikes on me as I protect the plate. The CPU does come down the middle a bit too much.

Try lowering pitch speed - I get more pulled pitches to left and right.
Try using power swing a bit more, you'll get doubles through the gaps, opposite field hits on late swings.

Try lowering contact, you get more grounders that the cpu can get to.

The hit variety is abundant in this game. I see hits to all fields. The middle ones don't bother me even if they are more than usual. It means you're making very good contact.

I LOVE to wait back on some pitches...for that FRACTION of a second more...and let hitting to the opposite field work for me. Nothing sweeter than seeing an extra basehit to the opposite field gap, a single slapped to the opposite field or even a homer off of the opposite field foul pole...lol

Honestly, excellent contact is made on certain opposite field hits. But in this game...just like real life, there are a number of shots hit to the opposite field that come off the bat way harder than shots up the middle.

well, try and start with the error slider maxed, fielder speed/react time=0, throwing strength/accuracy=0...if you change these for both cpu/hum, hopefully you'll see more errors and can tweak from there.

HBP - Yes, in RTTS, my player was hit in the foot while batting ...
Errors - I had one go under my glove (ss) and continue to the OF for an error, and have seen several throws go sailing above 1st from pitchers or defense when I am running down the line.
Hits - It does seem that a lot of them do go right back up the middle ...

Yes, you know alot has to do with the hitters red zone as well. Some of my hitter's redzone's are on the outside part of the plate. Wait a split second as you stated and BAM, nice opposite field through the gap for a double. So blue and red zones along with proper placement of the L stick (zone) and you shouldn't be seeing just hits up the middle.
