I thought maybe lowering it would make it harder to make contact on late swings, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe I need to mess with it more.

Timing Window?
I spent a game just tweaking this slider back and forth but I can't exactly figure out what difference it makes. Has it had an impact for anyone else?

Re: Timing Window?
By the description, it affects Contact. Since the Hit Quality slider already affects contact AFTER the hit, then I could only assume that the Timing Window slider affects whether or not you make contact...IE, lowering it will increase strikeouts. I don't know about for those of you that actually play, but it certainly has this effect in Manage Only mode. Dropping this slider down cranks the K's way up....but also negatively affects the offense in general. I wasn't able to find a good balance and finally put it back up to default. It's only a video game. -

Let me state that the best hitting aid in the game is the replay feature where you can view your timing in slow motion and see where your swinging late or early or perfect. A combination of hitting the ball just right as it approaches the plate and the sweet spot leads to incredible variety of hits. You don't need the L stick either.
Anyway, at low intervals, my timing revealed very late swings resulting in opposite field contact.
Once I raised the timing, I was able to turn on the fastball better and get in front for more pulled hits.
Unfortunately, I don't think lowering or raising it leads to less hits but different hits.
After having my 3rd 17 hit game, its time to lower to default. As I improve, I have the option to lower until the game is balanced.
It does make hitting harder at lower levels but because the sweet spot is already too generous, you experience many more opposite field hits.Comment

I was having real difficulty pulling the fastball in this game until folks on this board recommended I crank up the timing window.
