Power slider & foul ball issues...

I am enjoying this game..and I have a set of sliders which I am enjoying with unedited rosters... however there are a couple things that are bothering me that is making me wonder if there are indeed certain ABs which are "scripted". Couple issues I have are described below.

    1. Power slider

I have fooled around with sliders for the past week or so. I have tested with almost every team, different quality of pitchers, etc. I am convinced that the power slider is broken because of what I think as "scripted ABs" and I think the left stick gives too much of a boost in hits and power.

    Example 1

I played Red Sox at Yankees. I have Hit Quality at -10 and Power at -10. I was losing 5-0 to the Yankees in the bottom of the 5th. Wang is on the mound still.. pitching just about perfect. Ellsbury up. I hit an opposite field bomb..right down the left field line.. 392 ft. Just not realistic with Ellsbury. Lugo. Same exact thing. only 370 ft. I proceeded to destroy Wang for 8 runs in that inning and whats even worse, I batted around and hit ANOTHER opposite field bomb with Ellsbury.. only 363. From that inning on, the game went back and forth and I ended up winning 12-10. I kind of chalked it up as just a bizarre game but with Power at -10, I am thinking this isn't right.

    Example 2

I play Florida at Chicago White Sox. I am down 4-0, same slider settings as above. Its top of the 5th. Buerhle is pitching a gem. Luis Gonzalez is up. No lie. Buerhle throws a perfect change up on the lower outside corner (I have the left stick down the whole time as I normally do because I lnormally just look for pitches down in the strike zone) and I hit a 441 opposite field bomb down the left field line at Cellular Field. Are you kidding? Power at -10. Needless to say I scored 4 runs in that inning when I followed Gonazalez with 2 singles and then a 3 run bomb with Rabelo to the OPPOSITE FIELD again. I press start to check the wind. Blowing in at 27 mph. This isnt right

    2. Foul balls

I have tested with everything regarding foul balls at -10... pitch count, foul tip, discipline, vision, etc.

I always keep a close eye on pitch count for both teams as I am playing. My gripe is that there are a few ABs per game which have 10-15+ foul ball at bats. And everytime this has happened to me is when the pitch count was awfully low for that pitcher. Its almost like there will be scripted ABs where there will be a ton of foul balls to bring the pitch count where it probably "should be". So to test this, I put the pitch count slider at +10 and other sliders at +10 to test this. I played several games and realized that even with these settings, if you are low on pitch counts, there will be a few ABs where there is a sh*t load of foul balls to make you "catch up" in pitch count.

The foul ball thing doesnt bother me as much as the power issue. I have hit for plenty of extra bases with power at -10. I just think with the many instances where I have hit questionable HRs to the opposite field with low power guys, really makes me wonder. It just has happened too much for my liking.

I think the left stick really adds an added boost to hit balls and it's frustrating because if I dont use the left stick, I end up just hitting singles up the middle. The majority of my extra base hits and HRs are coming from the use of the left stick.

Anyone have similar experiences? I wouldnt post this if I only played a handful of games, but it has happened to me quite a bit and this is from a large sample of games.

Re: Power slider & foul ball issues...

JT...I think you're reading too much into it.

No way on the "scripted" AB's...just as no way on any comeback code.

I don't know if you play with pitcher confidence on or not...but more often than not....I find the pitching confidence and a pitchers clutch rating to be the culprit in things like this.

    Also....poor ratings input.
I remember last year Lugo had some ridiculous power attribute. It should be around 5....it was more like 40.
The same probably goes with Ellsbury.
I haven't had time to look at their ratings yet this year....you might want to look at that also.
