    Slider Help

Im at a crossroads here...now im not the greatest at this game, Ive been playing on default veteran difficulty and the cpu pitching and defense is fine for me. im averaging about 3-5 runs a game. sometimes more sometimes less....but the cpu hitting is horrible, every once in awhile they will explode for alot of runs but mostly its 1-3 runs a game...I want to make it harder for me to pitch and make their hitting better so should I just adjust the CPU hitting sliders? or move up to the next difficulty level and adjust alot of things?? If anyone even understands what im trying to say please help me out

Sounds like you are ready to move up a level. You don't say this, but I assume you are winning all or most of your games.

Try moving up to All-Star without touching the sliders. I'm gonna guess that you'll see a bit more hitting by the CPU, but you will have more trouble hitting yourself. In that case, maybe try kicking up your Hit Quality into the +2 to +5 range, and your Power to about +2.

If the CPU is still not hitting enough for your liking on All-Star, then you're starting to see the problem that a lot of us are seeing ... an anemic (crappy) CPU offense. My recommendation (what has saved me time) is to go to extremes, then scale back. Find the settings where you can't get out of innings. Say to yourself, "Cool, I found the place where the CPU hits TOO MUCH, and I know the place where they hit TOO LITTLE. So now, just like baby bear, I'm going to scale back the sliders until the game is JUST RIGHT for me." In other words, take your pitch control to -10, and your pitch movement to -10. Consider moving up CPU Hit Quality a lot. Find that break point where the game is too hard, then work backwards.

Where your comfort zone for the game ends up will depend on a lot of factors. Your reflexes, your tolerance for waiting out long at-bats, others stuff. Whether or not you use Guess Pitch, API, and/or Classic/Meter pitching also makes a huge difference.

Also, I believe there are some All-Star level sliders on this board, if you want to try them out. But starting at Default is my suggestion ..... sliders are very individual to your style and preferences, and you might find that Default is JUST RIGHT for you.

Of course, if you play enough, All-Star Default may not be JUST RIGHT for you in about a month, and then you can start the process all over.
