Manager Mode Slider question: Fouls, etc

Ok... was playing the Cubs vs Pirates in MOM. Problem was, after the first inning, my pitcher had something like 30 pitches thrown already. Now, i'm not a huge baseball fan (but I do like this game), so i'm not THAT familiar with pitch totals. Is that a reasonable number? Or is there a setting I should adjust to make this more realistic?

Also, i'm playing on default slider veteran level (don't really think diff level applies to MOM??). I seem to see a TON of foul balls. Any suggestions how to reduce those and maybe create more strikes, etc?

    Thanks guys.

I think there is a foul ball slider that you may want to check out. I'm not sure if it applies to MOM or not (I haven't checked). In my games, I do see innings where the pitchers have high pitch counts and innings where they are low. Typically, pitchers are hitting the 100 pitch count in the 6th or 7th inning, which I think is dead on. There are games where they reach it quicker and games where they don't get there until the 9th, which is pretty realistic in my book.
