    "Realistic" Pitch Count Setting?

BrianSCEA had said earlier that stat at All Star Default will generally even out. However, he had mentioned that the default Pitch Count slider was tweaked to give a slightly faster style of play. Does anyone know what the "realistic" pitch count slider setting is supposed to be?

Can't say what an official setting would be, but I have it at default +3, and like what I am getting for a pitch count.

The Pitch count slider is more than a pitch count. I find at default the game plays a very realistic pitch count as far as # of pitches.

However, theres foul ball frequency, AI approach, to be taken into consideration. The idea of the pitch count slider is to also give you the style of play. Brian eluded to many people desire a fast paced arcade type game in which you would get at a lower scale compared to a sim like game which many here prefer and therefore raise the slider.

Overall, the higher the slider, the things that make the game longer and realistic start to emerge such as:

Foul ball and foul tips to prolong at bats

More 2-2 and 3-2 counts and battles between hitters and pitchers from both sides.

More 0-2 counts turning into 3-2 if you can work the count effectively.

      More walks...etc...

So, anywhere above default will provide more of these results. I prefer +5 some folks like +3, some max out. But as far as pure # of pitches thrown, I think the game is very high no matter what the setting.

I have mine at +5(play HOF) and am extremely happy with pitch counts. Forced Cain out of a game in my franchise in which he threw 102 pitches in 5 1/3 innings.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

The user has a much bigger say in the pitch count than the slider - the slider can only shift that. For a free swinger, it won't really matter what setting the slider is at. So it's not a question of the slider's sensitivity.

Batters in MLB are trying very hard to hit while drawing walks and being patient. That and the learning curve are important factors. I.e. walks take some skill, not walking takes no skill. All I'm saying is that whatever you can do with the pitch count slider, it doesn't matter if the batting/pitching strategy isn't patient. And patient hitting and pitching make a bigger difference than the slider. The slider can only make an adjustment from that starting point.
