something i decided to work on

this is a small slider set i decided to work on to address a few things i saw that didnt seem right. explanations will be next to the sliders. feedback appreciated. sliders are starting from the far left at 0

UPDATE: Some small changes to get higher pitch counts

    Human:
Contact: 1-makes it harder to get good wood on tough pitches
Power: 1-keeps the ball in the yard but allows for extra bases on good hits
Timing: 1-showcase good hitters and weak hitters
Solid hits: 1-will need to get a good contact to get a good hit
Fouls: 3-helps get deeper into the count
Starter Stamina: 0-Starters seem to go too long, this makes relief a necessity in long games
Reliever Stamina: 1-Relievers dont need to pitch that long
    Pitcher Control: 1-higher pitch counts
Pitcher Consistency: 3-variety of location misses, without too many passed balls

    CPU:
Contact: 2-helps the cpu hit the ball
Power: 1-Helps cut down on home runs by cpu
Timing: 2-helps the cpu make contact
Fouls: 4-helps the cpu foul more pitches off
Solid hits: 2-gives the computer extra bases for good hits
    Starter stamina: 0-Same as human
    Reliever: 1-same as human
Control: 2: more control than human pitchers
    Consistency: 3-same as human
Strike Frequecy: 3-helps the opposing pitcher throw a strike
Hook: 10-pitcher fouls up, gets hooked, simple
pickoffs: 4-no need to waste ten minutes on one guy who isnt going to run...he he he.

    Global Settings
Pitch speed: 10-makes the ball come it at the speed that it is thrown at
Fielding error: 6-allows for errors (rarely seen at 5)
Throwing error: 6-bad throw creates an error
Fielder run speed: 2-slows the fielders down allowing for extra bases and slow rolling singles
Fielder reaction: 1-makes use of the positioning system
    Arm strength: 1-creates close plays
Base runner speed: 2-helps cut down excess extra bases
Stealing ability: 1-makes it harder to steal
Steal frequency: 1-punishes for too many steals and bad jumps
Wind: 5-not sure how to use this slider so i left it at default
Injury: 10-have yet to see an injury but hopefully will create one

no just the demo, but i figured while i wait for march, now is the time to start working on sliders since the core gameplay wont change much, from the demo to the final.

The retail version is going to play differently in some areas. I would not go too crazy adjusting.

i made these sliders primarily to cut down on doubles and triples on pitches that were 6 or 7 inches off the plate and to cause more balls instead of every single pitch being a strike

you said that legend mode is harder in the build u played right ? what was harder? the pitching or hitting?

I am hoping the hitting is unchanged because I have some sliders on the demo legend level that I am completely satisified with....

            thanks

Pitching is tougher and hitting is a shade harder.

you are absolutely WASTING your time. I don't know how many times we've been told on the various threads that the demo is NOT close to what the final build will be. Matter of fact, the demo is a couple of months BEHIND the build the OS members played when they were out in San Diego a couple of weeks ago.

And when the game is released in a few weeks, those of us who understand how this process works, know that one will have to play, at minimum, at least 20-30 games (notice I said play, not sim) to get any kind of a real clue of what has to be adjusted or... maybe not adjusted.

ok that is perfect.....I won't need to change hitting sliders then

but pitching with adjusted sliders on legend on the demo so far is brutal , not so much on default.

                  thanks for the response nem...

I don't think it's a total waste of time because by testing the sliders now you have a much better undderstanding of what the sliders do.

I now know that I am most comfortable with pitch speed at 8/10.

Also I have a good idea of how contact, solid hits, and timing affect hitting difficulty .

well if the demo is that far off then i need the sliders at least temporarily, and on legend mode, i found that the opposing pitcher was getting far too many doubles and triples, and i cant for the life of me remember the last time a pitcher ever got a triple off of a ball that was almost in the dirt

I'm playing on legend as well and the pitchers are extremely weak hitters, really easy to strike out. The one thing I don't get is how the Phillies' lefties can pound Kazmir so hard, make any kind of minute mistake to Utley or Howard and they will take you yard. When I'm facing Kazmir, he is hard as hell to hit against with a lefty.

well i will say this much, if i throw a curveball that ends up 6 inches outside, then i dont see how kazmir should be able to get a double that bounces off the left field wall

I don't know, the most a pitcher has done in any of my games is a decently well struck single. And, once a medium-deep fly ball I think. Pitchers are a lot weaker than they were last year, I think it has to do with the new hitting system not the batting ratings.

thats another thing, pitchers very very rarely get singles, even well struck ones.
