Why did they take out so many sliders?

I posted this in the wrong place, so reposting here...

Been playing 08 for a long time, had those things dialed in perfectly. Lots and lots of sliders to adjust.

Just got 09 and go in to start tweaking it and what tha... where'd they all go? There's only a handful now. Not only that, they combined a bunch. Like you used to be able to set infield/outfield/runner speeds for both users and cpu, now it's all combined into one slider? In 08 you could fix the cpu cheating with these, now you're stuck with it.

Lots of sliders flat out gone now, like the ability for the cpu to lay off close pitches. Where are my reaction sliders? Where are all kinds of my sliders gone to? There were a ton of sliders in 08, all brilliantly done. I had 08 fine tuned like a purring kitten.

They are basically saying, you WILL play this game how *WE* want you to, you will not be allowed to overcome our cheats anymore, ahahahaha. (hyperbole, but still, lol).

Just noticed the text describing the frequency the cpu will try to pickoff a baserunner, under that it says "Lowering this can allow the user to exploit the cpu unfairly". What in the heck!! They think THEY are the cpu and are being cheated by US? lol. In reality, the cpu goes crazy throwing over when you take a single step.

Do your homework read through this thread in its entirety and it should answer or alleviate any problems or issues you currently have.

Re: Why did they take out so many sliders?

Thanks for the link, that's too many posts to go through now so I'll have to read it over the next few days. I don't see how it's possible to correct it though, say if I want to speed up my baserunning and infield speed a tad and slow down the cpu's a tad, like last year. Hoping it has something to make the cpu not so amazing at laying off pitches, but really... I don't see how that will be possible with the few sliders we have. Nothing in there relates to that as far as I can tell. At all.

The infielder/outfielder speed sliders didn't even work in 08.

For me at least, 09 plays so perfect on default All Star that I'm not sure why they even included sliders in the game. They're not needed.

^^^Once we get alot of games under are belts I am sure slider adjustments will be necassary. No sports game plays perfect out of the box no matter how good it is.

I'm playing on All-Star, too, and have only tweaked a couple of things (pitch speed, fielding errors and CPU pitch control). The game plays amazingly well out of the box. I know as time goes on more things will be tweaked, but I'm really happy with how good it's playing right now.

I really like the sliders choices better this year as the game just plays so well out of the box tons arent needed.
Pretty simple to get great sliders this year IMO

I'm diggin the game out of the box, other than the fact that the pitchers thrown dynamite corner-painting strikes all game long. I was just one-hit by Zack Greinke over 8 innings, with 12 K's. I took the first two pitches to each batter and mostly had 0-2 holes to battle back from.
