    BleacherCreature's Vet Sliders

Using a combo of Rudy, Doris/Trin and Blz's as a base here's what I've come up with.
    0=Far Left, 5=Default, 10=Far Right
    Changes are in (RED)

    DIFFICULTY Veteran
    PITCHING Classic
    CONFIDENCE On
    API Off
    STRIKE ZONE Off
    BALL MARKER Off
    GUESS PITCH No

    User
    Contact 2 (1)
    Power 6
    Timing 5 (1)
    Fouls 6
    Solid Hits 4
    Starter Stamina 6
    Reliever Stamina 0
    Pitcher Control 0 (1)
    Pitcher Consistency 3

    CPU
    Contact 2 (1)
    Power 5
    Timing 0
    Fouls 6
    Solid Hits 4
    Starter Stamina 6
    Reliever Stamina 0
    Pitcher Control 0 (1)
    Pitcher Consistency 3
    Strike Frequency 0
    Manager Hook 8
    Pickoffs 2

    Global
    Pitch Speed 0
    Fielding Errors 7
    Throwing errors 1
    Fielder Run Speed 2
    Fielder Reaction 1 (2)
    Fielder arm strength 4 (3)
    Baserunner speed 5
    Baserunner Steal ability 5
    Baserunner Steal frequency 5
    Wind 5
    Injuries 5

Any feedback is welcome. I've been messing with these most of the day and feel I have a good mix of results. A few pitcher's duels, a slugfest and 1 sound beating.

So I actually just wanted to know how the Manager Hook slider is implemented. What kinds of things did you see to bump it up to 8? I've been looking at that one a bit and thinking of doing something with it myself (like bumping up Starter Stamina simply because when they gas out they simply suck).

Hard to say as I have only played spring training games so the starters are usually done by the 4th.
I did play 1 exhibition game with it at 8 and Kasmir went into the 7th. An error and a walk knocked him out of the game, even though I had only scored 1 run against him and the game was tied.

Depends on your sliders and skill level .....
I mean I have them at 8 because i was having problems with HU/Cpu pitch confidence getting to low which caused unrealistic big blowout innings .
Best thing I saw was pitching coach come out in the 2nd inning after a error and he walked 2 .
As his Confidence I feel dropped way to low.
I showed Trinity this he can explain it better .
Great fix best thing I found he said to high but like I said his sliders are a bit different . Mine favor Pitchers a bit so you have to break um down like real ball early . great games .\
Same thing will FLd reaction as you know you gotta blend it all together good luc sorry I suc at explaining it

          Re: BleacherCreature's Vet Sliders

Bleacher, I notice your Pitcher Control & Strike Frequency are at 0. I play on Veteran as well and lose most of the time, so I like this level for now.

Anyways, I feel the CPU throws too many strikes. I am patient, but still feel like they should throw more balls as by the end of their starts the strike % is too high. I knocked these sliders down a notch or two, but was wondering what you are seeing with them at zero? Thanks.

            Re: BleacherCreature's Vet Sliders

Changes have been edited in the first post in (red)

Hitting was becoming too easy with high contact and timing.
And I read in the slider descriptions that if you lower pitcher control you shold also lower batter contact. So I made them bot 1 for each side and it has a really nice feel to it.
I might raise fielder speed to try cutting off the overabundance of doubles down the lines. Seems all outfielders are too slow to stop balls from rolling to the corners. I also upped fielder reaction by 1 to try fixing the same thing with shots down the line. Too many get past the 3B for doubles. I don't want to over-correct though as I see triples with these.

                Re: BleacherCreature's Vet Sliders

Yeah, I'm getting plenty of everything with these. If I am patient enough I can get a few walks per game, and I am hitting a good amount of HR's. Still seeing a few too many doubles for the CPU though. It seems every game, no matter what their hit total, half of their hits are doubles. Mine are a little less than half which I think would be near perfect.
Top 3 starters and quality relievers are tough to hit with these, but the 4 and 5 starter and those mop-up scrubs from the pen you can hit if you wait for something good.
One thing I am really noticing is if you can rattle a pitcher he will make a ton of mistakes. Draw a walk, followed by a couple of singles and he will start laying them in there for you.

                  Re: BleacherCreature's Vet Sliders

If anyone would like to try these on all-star for a few games I would be curious as to how they play on that level.
There seems to be that weird neutral zone on vet where if the CPU sliders are too low they wont do anything but if they're up just a notch they become superhuman.
If all-star evens them out then I will switch over to that.

Im glad you understand this many ignore the Pitcher confidence thing just gotta chip away most of the time.
I have gotten so good at pitching I now throw so little walks , hardly any even with lesser pitchers so I will have the Cpu Hitting more rewarding so I have to now be less agressive or pay .
You will eventually see this you my also wanna lower Manager hook to 7 , too high and if cpu closer gets in trouble he will get yanked , Trin was correct .
Oh yeah if you have patience HU walks are there
                    Good luck to you BC
