Why does every slider maker turn swing influence off?
I thought this is something that would be left on for a more realistic experienceTags: None -
Re: Why does every slider maker turn swing influence off?
I don't play with it because I don't feel it's needed. Just like real baseball, if I want to hit a fly ball I try to get under it. If I want to go the other way, I stay behind the ball. And so on.*
They've made the hitting interface and physics so realistic, swing influence is unnecessary.
*None of this ever actually happens, because I suck, but you get the point.Quit making your stupid YouTube videos and start playing the game. -

Certain "options" in every slider set are just that...optional.
I personally leave this on because it's something you can choose to use or not use, and it doesn't affect sliders. So I don't see any reason to force it off.Comment

Re: Why does every slider maker turn swing influence off?
I only specify two gameplay options in my slider set: guess pitch off or no feedback and pitcher confidence off. I like swing influence. It's not going to pull the ball (or hit the ball the opposite way) for you but I think it slightly increases the margin of error, so your timing can be a touch off and the ball will go in the direction you want it to go in. I think swing influence is more helpful for flyballs and groundballs, since you don't have as much control over hitting the ball in the air or on the ground compared to hitting the ball to the right or left side.Comment
