Psycho's base set really is the best there is, imo, but if you want to use Razr's edited roster you have to adjust those three values. It won't skew anything else in Psycho's set from a gameplay perspective, and it's very rewarding to have the best of both worlds with Psycho's core gameplay edits and Razr's pitching ones.

To the larger topic of the thread, I've had an absolute blast with these sliders. I've had everything from 4 hit games to a 20 hit game, no runs to 10 runs.

I do use the L stick--I see some are curious about that--and find that it helps with variety of hit types but doesn't change the overall outcome in terms of hit totals.

    Autumn,
That is what I was using (Razr's modifications on PBs sliders) and I am not getting good results as far as pitch count. Just curious to see if Psycho had used this set at all and made his own mod to his sliders for this set.

My starters seem to be done after 75 - 85 pitches and CPU pitchers are getting yanked at the same point while pitching well after giving up either a hit or a walk on Razrs mod. Are you seeing this as well in your games? I havent been able to play since Sunday (babies do that to you) but I am gonna try to play with both the staminas sliders and hook slider to see if can get any closer to 90 - 100 pitches being a good starting hook point.

I think its Razrs edits causing your problems Ja as i have literally just finished a 7-2 loss to the Angels where Verlander went 102 pitches for me (and had energy left) and Joe Saunders went 128 pitches for LA and left after 7.1 innings.

I also tried Razr's stamina edits and Knight v.5 and didn't get so good results.

I was getting dominated by AJ Burnett, but he was exhausted after 50 some pitches.

Word. If it's not working for you, you gotta go back to default stamina ratings and the base sliders for stamina and hook.

I've only gotten one really early hook and that was because I went up 6-0 after 4 innings and my guess is the CPU just didn't want to widen the deficit.

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show

I have just a few gripes. #1 is the baserunning. Is there any way I can turn the aggression down? I'm getting way too many assists in the outfield and guys are being far too aggressive on the bases. Secondly, there are too many passed balls/wild pitches..through about 15 team games I'm averaging about 1.4 per game...it would be higher but I have been a bit lucky with runners choosing to stay on their respective bases a couple times. That is still a bit high. Pitch counts are decent, but my starters wear down after about 80-85 pitches. I think stamina could use a bump, maybe a point or two. I guess it depends on how you pitch though, I try to hit the corners so I throw more balls than the casual player I guess, I typically walk 2-3 a game because of it. The opposing pitch counts are pretty much spot on, stamina is just about right for them so I don't have major complaints there. I bumped the strike frequency down to one because I wasn't getting enough walks, it has helped quite a bit. As a team I'm hitting .253, but I am the Reds so I'm not exactly an offensive juggernaut. These are the only real gripes I have with these sliders, I have, as I said, made the above adjustments and I am 8-7 thru 15 games. Pretty enjoyable set you have here, would just like to know how, if i can, address the past balls and baserunning issues.

Passed balls i mentioned above somewhere, not really without knocking the strike/ball ratio off kilter, they happen a bit too often i know but this is more a programming issue.

Baserunning, if thats what you see from the AI then its not easy as there is no Baserunner Aggression slider this year, you could turn the outfielder arm strength down one, me personally i dont see it so wont, but you can if you want to try that.

It's not a HUGE problem, just my RF (Jay Bruce) already have 5 assists in 15 games. he has been close on lots more too. You're right though, probably is a programming issue. Wonder why they took that aggresson slider out I thought it was useful.

yo Psycho....love these sliders bro!!! i am about 15 games into my Cubs franchise and havin a blast. i am, however, playing on VET skill level.....i am just not in the all-star caliber. there are just way too many HRs by the CPU for me on all-star mode. to me, the vet level gives me a great challenge...i love it!!! god bless you, and merry old england, my friend!!

                          I would, but...

                          Disaster has struck!

Ive saved over the bloody save file with a test save i was running in a MOM only mode, i dont know how ive done it, i just wasnt thinking what i was doing, forgot i had two saves going and simply said yes when asked to overwrite the existing file instead of create a new one (as it was the first time i was saving the MOM only test).

"Gutted" is an understatement, i was 66 games in as well

However, ive used all last night to shake off the disappointment (and it took a few hours believe me!) and i will be starting afresh, this time in the NL with the Dodgers, i love their ballpark and moving from the AL (with Detroit) to the NL will let me see more ballparks and freshen things up.

Since i have to start again i may as well get the 1.07 patch and Knight latest roster OS Full Minors V5 is the one for post patch i believe, promote the stars i want playing (A-Rod/Mauer etc, dont want them sitting the minors all season) and fire her up.

LA here i come! but still at losing 66 games of work.

Ah well, 162 to go now

...so stats after 1 game (just opened up with a 6-3 loss in San Diego) would be extremely useless.

Alright I'm playing with these sliders in my franchise..I made a few adjustements though. I have starter stamina for user bumped up two clicks because guys were tired after 75-80 pitches and they could never go into the 8th, even if they were rolling along. Anyway, other than that I just bumped CPU Strike frequency down to 0 and knocked their control down 1 cause I wasn't satisfied with my lack of walks. Here's my #'s after 24 games, or roughly one month...

If you're curious I don't use guess pitch or anything, just hit em as they come

                            Hitting:

I'm pretty satisfied with those...but I feel like I'm giving up way too many hits. Don't have enough K's either, the Reds have a pretty good pitching staff shouldn't be that hard to be respectable there. Any tips?

Only just general pitching tips really, work the corners, look at the hot/cold zones in tight situations etc, set the batters up.

                              Thanks for the feedback.

                                Hey Psy,

Huge condolances on losing your 'chise...

I've done things like that with various franchises in various titles and it sux bigtime...

Have fun with the Dodgers, I'm in Spring Training of year two of my Giants 'chise and now that Manny has retired and I've added a couple power bats to help my A level pitching, I can hopefully make a run at LA...finished 26 behind in year one...

Since reducing contact by one for both sides the gameplay continues to be stellar...thanks again...
