Obviously I am not psycho, but yes. I use his sliders with fantastic results on veteran. This is the most amazing baseball game and his sliders have made it that much better.
I was struggling at first with hitting, but I have started to do much better. I have developed a pretty good eye and I am drawing between 2 and 4 walks a game depending on the pitcher.Comment

Thanks choadler, yes Doc you should be fine.

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
Great, thanks for the feedback. I've been playing with the default sliders and I'm not getting the results I want as far as hitting goes. I get plenty of hits but they're all singles up the middle. I pull some line drives but I never hit bloopers or blasts into the alley for doubles or triples. Also, the CPU always comes back to make up the run deficiency after about 5 - 6 innings of pitching a shut out and I have CPU comeback off.

Doc, up your power slider by 1 if you're having a hard time with HR's or gappers. I did it yesterday for a handful of games and it's made a difference. I may go back down 1 though to see if maybe my timing has gotten better.
If you're playing on veteran with these my other suggestion is to raise CPU contact by 1 from where Bulk has it (I think he has it at 3).
CPU hitters don't feel as dangerous on Vet, thus making pitching feel a little easy at times, which is why I moved it up 1. They will still chase but not like they do at contact 3. 4 makes you really have to hit your spots.
I actually just finished a game vs Oakland where Pettitte had bases loaded no outs. I got a K of Giambi (after he worked the count full after going down 0-2), a pop-up behind the plate by Nomar, and a hard grounder for a force-out from Cust. I really had to work though, as I had some pretty deep pitch counts that inning.
I took Pettitte out in the 6th after he threw 116 pitches.Last edited by BleacherCreature; 04-06-2009, 02:17 PM.Comment

Actually I think I may leave my power at +1 from Bulk's.
I just got completely shut down by Gio Gonzalez (and his 21.00 ERA) of Oakland. He struck me out 11 times, as I couldn't come close to touching his curveball. This game was a real shot at my ego. I thought my timing was getting pretty good, however my last 2 games with the power down a notch I haven't hit any HR's nor any extra base hits.Comment

Choadler do you use Psychos to the letter on Veteran or did you tweak it ?Comment

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
I have contact for CPU at 5, timing at 5, and solid hits at 5.
The CPU is still very dangerous at these settings. I have been blown out a few times. Reds scored 13 runs on me the other day. My middle relief has been atrocious so far.
You may find the CPU is still too good at these settings, they really do still hit and good hitters are very dangerous. I recommend pitching around the stars. I may reduce contact to 4 soon as the Cubs middle relief has about a 9.00 era as a unit. My closer has been lights out though.Last edited by choadler; 04-07-2009, 11:20 AM.Comment

PsychoBulk - Thank you for posting the sliders. I have been playing this game since 06, but never got a good grasp on the sliders. I am going to start a new season using these sliders tonight w/ the Yankees and will post results as my season progresses.
One question - I usually play on HOF, I see you designed the sliders for All-Star which I am going to try. What is the major difference between AS and HOF?
Once again thanks.Comment
