    Psycho,

I decided to dive into this slider set and let me tell you, I couldn't be happier!

I play on All-Star and at times, I didn't feel challenged enough, yet wasn't ready for HOF.

Results are posted below: My current Tampa Bay Rays franchise.

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show

I was previously playing on HOF difficulty with pretty much default sliders. The CPU offense was almost unstoppable. So I gave these sliders a try.

I've only played 2 games, and will obviously play more, so don't think i've formed any opinions of these sliders yet.

      2 games against the Phillies:

      Game 1:
      Braves 1-11-0 (Starter: Jair Jurrjens)
      Phillies 2-4-0 (Starter:Brett Myers)

      Game 2:
      Braves 5-9-0 (Starter: Javier Vazquez)
      Phillies 3-5-2 (Starter: Jamie Moyer)

After those two games I have two concerns. One being the lack of CPU offense. At no point did I ever feel threatened. I just kind of coasted through both games (minus a couple of mistakes that were hit for HRs) with no problem. However, that could very well be a fluke, and Jurrjens and Vazquez aren't exactly scrubs.

My second concern is the erratic pitching of the CPU. It seems like the CPU can't throw a strike until they are behind in the count, which leads to their pitch count getting out of hand really fast. Thus tiring them out pretty fast. Moyer did manage to complete 6 innings, giving up only 3 runs, so maybe it isn't that big of an issue.

Ill come back with more impressions after i play a couple more series in my franchise to see how things play out, but overall, these sliders are really good.

Member and AWS, thanks for the feedback.

Also, AWS, please bare in mind that that was 2 games you have played, you cannot begin to judge a slider set until at least 20/30 games down the line and even then its difficult.

Ive had series where ive shut the CPU down totally, others where they have blasted 7/8 homers in 3 games, its all down to how you play on the day, variety etc, it will only come with time

Psycho these sliders are simply great. What up to date rosters do you play with? I am afraid that some updated sliders out there tweak players ratings so I am unsure of which one to start my season with your sliders. Your help would be appreciated!

              Psycho,

Just stop'n in to say thanks for the amazing sliders. The most realistic feel to a baseball game to date for me personally thanks to your sliders and Knights rosters. Really enjoying them so far.

              After 4 games, I'm 2-2, with a 7-1 victory, 4-3 loss, 2-1 loss and a 2-1 victory.

              Great stuff!!!

Want to give these a try. Is psychos sliders still the same as the ones on page 2, or has he made any changes?

You got 1.3 in the vault? I'm pretty sure the one I tweaked manually was your latest version, but just checking.

First game using the sliders. The game does play a lot better. I got more hits and had a better offense than my previous sliders, but its only one game and it felt i had to earn my hits more than previously having big innings due to the pitchers confidence falling apart. I hit Lincecum pretty well though. Game felt more intense and I was constantly in fear the Giants were gonna strike for some runs. I was 3-0 .050 ERA with Haren going in, nobody touched him, and even the measley giants got 2 ER in 6 innings off him and I had to work out of some jams.

                          Box Score

                          Giants 2 9 0
                          Dbacks 6 16 0
                          WP- Gutierrez
                          LP - Affeldt
                          S- Qualls

                          Lopez 2-5
                          Young 3-5
                          Drew 2-5 HR 2 RBI
                          Clark 2-5 HR 2 RBI
                          Tracy 2-3
                          Reynolds(PH) 0-1
                          Upton 2-4 RBI
                          Snyder 1-3 RBI
                          Jackson 1-3
Pitcher Spot 0-3 Byrnes (PH) 1-2

                          Haren 6 IP 2 ER 5 H 1 BB 3 K's
                          Gutierrez 1 IP 2 H 0 R
                          Schoenewise 1 IP 1 H 1 K
                          Qualls 1 IP 1 H

One thing i was pleased on, I fanned 9 times. In prior games, I would be lucky if i struck out 3 times a game. And a lot of my success in the game could have come from the fact 2/3 of my lineup is in a hot streak. I had a 297 average going in

Here's another battle against the Yanks... your sliders are a perfect match!

Garza was pitching a gem but fatigue got the best of him and I ignored it.

                            His line:

                            6 IP
                            6 H
                            3 R
                            3 ER
                            3 BB
                            8 K's

I was wondering about players' tweaks in Knight165's roster and their effect on gameplay. I finally found my answer straight from Knight himself: (paraphrased from another thread)

On his final release: Some adjustments to players who have too much power...some who had too much range and some others.
                              Tweaks, not wholesale changes.
On his lineup fix: Changed the ratings as little as possible to make AI handle rosters correctly.

This is reassuring that player tweaks will not totally change the way the game plays. PsychoBulk's great 1.3 sliders will still function the same.

Hope this helps braz11. GREAT JOB once again Psycho!!!

Playing AllStar with these - seeing my HR count at about 2:1 to doubles, thoughts?

Maybe I'm too early when swinging, as I hit more balls down the lines than in the alleys, or over heads of outfielders. I am also seeing way to many seeing eye singles and HR's vs, hard hit singles, or doubles.

                                Thoughts?
