    Pitch Control

After messing with the sliders and awful lot, I have come to the conclusion that the pitch control slider is the most important slider for controlling hits and runs. I have pitch control set at +3 and the pitchers will rarely throw pitches down the middle. This seems to play pretty accurately at +3 and I am not sure if I need to lower it to +2 to score some runs, or learn to take pitches when they are not in the zone.

Just a little insight for anyone that is messing so much with the hitting sliders. It might just be pitch control that needs tweaking.

P.S. I have contact, power, timing, and solid hits all at default on HOF level.

Yea. The higher the control, the less likely you (or the CPU) will leave a mistake pitch or meatball down the middle. Lowering the control will result in more solid hits because it means you miss your spot and "lay it up there" over the heart of the plate.

I personally have it at default right now, but have been thinking of upping it a bit because I have trouble with the big inning.

      Re: Pitch Control

I am having a lot more fun pitching with pitch control raised. I am not as worried about leaving it over the heart of the plate. When I previously played with sliders at default I would get scores like 11-10 and rarely get 3-2 games. I think I only have to do some minor tweaking now to get it where I want.

I wouldn't recommend moving the slider far from default as you can really dominate on the mound if you raise Pitch Control too much. Lowering it too much will make pitching way too difficult. I really hate this slider because it should lower/increase a pitcher's control, not lower/increase the amount of meatball pitches.

I can't have this slider on anything but default.
1 click higher and the CPU can't generate any offense against me, yet 1 click lower and I get rocked consistently.
Using classic pitching I think I have control at default and consistency at -1 from default, they might be even though I don't remember exactly.
Although in a recent game with Sabathia pitching he shut down the Jays, giving up 2 runs in 8 innings, 6 hits and 9 K's. My last game with him today vs. Cleveland he gave up 6 runs on 11 hits, 2 walks and didn't get out of the 4th. Both games were with control at default.
I think the meter guys like it a bit higher than default though.

            Re: Pitch Control

I moved the pitch control slider +3 and the pitch consistancy slider -3. I've only played five games with the sliders at this setting, an admittedly small sample, but I'm noticing alot more pitches miss out of the zone, and less meatballs. I using the pitching meter.
