Re: What fielding reaction setting do you play with ??
I was using Psycho's suggestion at 10 but I dropped it to 5 just to see how it plays and I like it. All the fielders have fluid and natural reactions. They still get to balls in the gaps but not all the time. Seems like it's best used at default.
I've tinkered so much with Psycho's sliders I'm not even sure I'm using his anymore, I guess I just used his as a starting point.Comment

Thats what bothered me the most using 10 reaction was all the fielders had cat like jerky fielding animations and nothing looked realistic and they got to almost every ball no matter where it was hitComment

I couldn't say it better myself.....Default reaction allows fielders to have fluid and natural reactions like real baseball players

cut down the hits by reducing the Contact sliders, not by artificially making every fielder play unrealistcComment

Re: What fielding reaction setting do you play with ??
Cutting down the contact slider doesn't reduce hits much, especially on the user side. On the CPU side, lowering contact to a certain amount makes the CPU too undisciplined and just makes them really bad hitters. Contact is adjusted to find a CPU balance of taking and chasing pitches, not increasing/decreasing hit totals. Yes, lowering it enough will reduce hit totals but it will break much more (easy strikeouts on contact hitters, abundance of first pitch outs, etc.). Lowering timing is the key to lowering hit totals. Solid hits does very little.Comment

and evan reducing contact, timing, solid hits the cheap singles problem will persist becasue the fielders, IF specially act too dumb....
try laying downa bunt(or a choper in front of the plate) with reaction below 5 and ull see 5 out of 10 times a weird animation were the fielder just stands in front of the ball still....than whe he wakes up and pick the ball up its too late to throw out the runner.... those are annoying and mess up the AVR with cheap singles just like mlb 08.---------------
