    Veteran Sliders (Challenging)

First off, my recent HOF sliders were just too inconsistant. I found too many games where my starter would just shut down the opposing team and they would come back against my relievers. I decided to mess with the Veteran difficulty a little bit in my spare time. I have only played one game with these but since the results were so good I have decided to post them with my game results.

    Here are Game 1's results:

    Tigers 1 0 1 0 0 0 0 1 1 4 7 1
    Jays 1 0 0 1 2 0 0 2 X 6 8 1

    Tigers:

    Rincon- 3.0 IP 2 H 2 R 2 ER 0 BB 2 SO 6.00 ERA

    HR: Granderson

    Jays:
    Halladay (W)- 6.0 IP 4 H 2 R 2 ER 2 BB 4 SO

Pitching- Hit your spots the catcher gives you. Start your pitch where the circle is and let it break from there. This is what will give your pitcher some walks. The user pitching is kind of hard to get strikeouts I discovered.

Hitting- Take pitches and hit pitches in hitting spots.

Try these out and let me know how they work. I will be changing them based on your results, and my own so let me know.

Tough game for me, but it shows that there is some difficulty in these sliders.

        Another game....

        White Sox 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 R0 H5 E2
        Reds (ME) 0 3 2 0 0 1 0 1 X R7 H9 E0

Volquez dominated for me and I got to Buehrle early.

          Re: Veteran Sliders (Challenging)

I'd been experimenting with these sliders for just over a week now and I think I finally settled in, at least to a point where I was being competitive against the CPU. I took my lumps and even still, I lose my fair share of both close games as well as the occasional blowout. I was getting tired of the CPU's comeback ability but I think that a lot of it had to do with my tendency to pitch poorly towards the later innings. I just finished what I would consider to be a classic game for me, not so much because I overcame an 8-run deficit but because for once, the computer did not mount any comeback in the bottom of the 9th against my closer.

          Reds 0 0 0 0 1 1 3 0 5 10R 15H 1E
          Mets 5 0 2 1 0 1 0 0 0 9R 16H 2E

          PITCHING OVERVIEW:

CIN - Arroyo got roughed up for 5 in the 1st and was out of the game after allowing 2 more runs in a total of 2.2 innings of work. Masset and Lincoln gave up 1 run each in their relief appearances, while Burton and Cordero did their part to get the win and save respectively.
NYM - Maine and Putz combined for 6.2 innings, allowing 5 runs on 8 hits. Maine would fan 7. The Mets bullpen would break out their gas cans in the 7th and 9th innings, as Stokes gave up 2 runs in the 9th. Putz allowed 3 runs of his own in the 7th. Rodriguez came on in the 9th inning with a 9-5 lead after Stokes managed to get just 1 out. Rodriguez gave up consecutive hits to Votto and Phillips before allowing a towering 3-run shot by Ramon Hernandez to left field, his second homer of the game.

          HITTING OVERVIEW:

CIN - Hairston, Votto, Phillips, and Hernandez all had 3 hits apiece. Hernandez hit 2 home runs and knocked in 5. Timely hits were key in mounting such a comeback. The Reds still managed to strike out 10 times and walk once (Taveras).
NYM - Beltran, Church, Castro, and Castillo each had 2 hits, while Reyes and Murphy both went 3-5. Castillo had 3 RBI, Wright had 2.

It's reassuring to know that the CPU isn't the only one that can overcome such a large deficit and hang on for the win.
