    S1ARK5 ALL-STAR Sliders - FIRST ANNUAL

Hello my fellow SHOW gamers. As promised two months ago I have for you some of the most realistic sliders I have ever done for any baseball game. I think we as gamers have been fortunate that the SCEA developers shipped this game in better shape then most games that have come out in the same genre in the past, with that said there were still somethings that needed tweaking.

Im a HUGE baseball fan, and a HUGE videogame baseball fan. Just to give you all a quick history. I regard the SHOW franchise and the HIGH HEAT franchise as the pinnacle for baseball videogaming, throw in there MVP 05 as well.

I have started my franchise with the Yankees and after 41 games into my season and more then I can count exhibition games I finally have the most realistic sliders for ALL STAR DIFFICULTY.

Here are some stats so far from my franchise

    W L RS RA
    Yankees 25 16 208 188 W2
    Rays 24 18 1.5 195 200 L3
    Redsox 21 19 3.5 233 189 W5

As you can see the redsox are coming on strong winning 5 in a row. I lost 3 of 4 to the Twins most recently and won my first game against Baltimore behind a masterpiece by Sabathia 1-0.

So far the games have been very much life like, some are pitching duals, some are high scoring games, some are in betweeners 5-4 5-3 games, this to me is very KEY to being realistic because as baseball fans how many times have seen a team look like they couldnt hit water falling from the boat and the next day they come out swinging. Also for a period of games say 5-8 the offense looks consistant untill one or two days where they cant hit and vise versa, very key to gameplay!

    Here are some BATTING stats

    AVG .282 7th in MLB
    RUNS 208 T-4th in MLB
    HITS 403 9th in MLB
    HR 53 6th in MLB
    RBIs 201 8th in MLB
    WALKS 130 T 16th in MLB
    K 284 T23rd in MLB
    GIDP 44 30th in MLB

As you can see my offense is pretty decent as you would expect with the Yankees. Regarding the WALKS as you can see below with the sliders I have been really playing this game as I would in real life, I try and be patient in most cases if the count is in my favor, but obviously if you are down in the count 0-2 or 1-2 you have to protect the plate with the X swing (avg swing). At the bigging of the count I usually swing with the square button (POWER) but when it is time to protect the plate you have too.

    PITCHING STATS & DEFENSE

    ERRORS 16 4th in MLB
    ERA 4.35 18th in MLB
COMPLETE GAMES 2 T-7th in MLB
    SAVES 13 T-10th in MLB
BLOWN SAVES 5 T-15th in MLB
HITS ALLOWED 393 T-16th in MLB
RUNS ALLOWED 188 19th in MLB
EARNED RUNS 180 19th in MLB
HRs ALLOWED 50 23rd in MLB
BB ALLOWED 110 4th in MLB
    K 246 T-24th in MLB

again pretty realistic stats for the most part coming from the Yankees rotation.

Now lets get to the sliders, if you guys want to add to anything please feel free and let me know what kind of results you get.

    GLOBAL (- / +)

    Pitch Speed +3
    Fielding Errors +2
    Throwing Errors +1
    Fielder Run Speed -1
    Fielder Reaction -3
    Fielder Arm Strength -3
    Baserunning Speed 0
    Baserunning Steal Ability +1
    Steal Frequancy 0
    Wind 0
    Injury Frequancy +1

    USER

    Contact +2
    Power -1
    Timing 0
    Fouls 0
    Solid Hits 0
    Starter Stamina 0
    Reliever Stamina 0
    Pitcher Control -4
    Pitcher Consistancy -1

You may ask yourself pitcher control -4????? Yes really, trust me guys, combine the -4 with the pitch ball marker to off and it gets tougher to throw strikes and you actually do walk people.

    CPU

    Contact +1
    Power +1
    Timing +1
    Fouls +1
    Solid Hits +1
    Starter Stamina 0
    Reliever Stamina 0
    Pitcher Control -5
    Pitcher Consistancy 0
    Strike Frequancy -5
    Manager Hook 0
    Pick Offs -2

The pitcher control and strike frequancy will still have the cpu pitcher throw strikes but again if you show some patience you will work out your faire share of walks. I have managed to walk when I was up 2-0 in the count, down 0-2 in the count, 3-1 doesnt matter, these sliders really work with the rating of the pitcher and really I found out works great. It has given me the most realisitc walk ratio of any baseball game I have played.

    API - ON
    No Ball Marker
    No StrikeZone
    No HOT COLD Zone
NO HR Celebration Cam (If you like this then its up to you, i myself have to turn it off to give me the most realistic tv presentation)
    GUESS PITCH OFF

    Batting View Catcher
    Pitching View Pitcher

I use both the POWER and AVG Swings again depending on the count, I have hit my fair share of homeruns using both buttons. It all depends on the situation and who is pitching ofcourse. I never use the POWER button if I have 2 strikes on me unless its the bottom of the 9th and im losing and I need a homerun then I swing for the fences. Again i would like to point out that I have hit homeruns with both swings.

Well there you have it guys I do hope these sliders give you the enjoyment it has given me. I really am loving them and if you guys want to try them out and give me some feed back I would appreciate that.

Feel free to let me know what you think.

    many thanks!

      Plez,

sounds good let me know what kind of results you get. I am using the meter for pitching. I also forgot to mention that I am using classic baserunning controls.
