    ps2 slider question

maybe it's just me but everytime i bump a slider on ps2 the game gets really hard to play. it feels like you're playing on legend no matter what difficulty setting you have it on. right now, i'm playing a season on veteran level with no sliders and getting ok results. i would like to change a few sliders, but i'm afraid it will become to difficult to play again. if anyone can give me some insight as to what they do and how it works for them i would greatly appreciate it. it's obvious i am a less than average player, playing on vet.(probably due to my decreased reflexes from getting older), but i think there must be something i'm missing. thanks to anyone in advance who replies.

what kind of stats do you want to change? do you want to get more walks? do you want to get a lower or higher batting average? what?

oh yeah :o sorry about that. i don't think base stealers are successful enough. i play with auto fielding and the cpu is hardly ever safe(russ martin is my catcher). i know that i can increase steal ability but every time i touch a slider the game bugs out on me. also, pitching seems ok. i would like to decrease my contact a little. thanks.

I have the PS2 version and the sliders seem very responsive to me.

what settings are you using(difficulty/who's sliders) and do you use a.p.i.? ,guess pitch or location and such? whatever info you can give me would be greatly appreciated. once again, thanks. p.s. i hit o.k. but can't pitch the later innings.

I'm playing on All-Star and using a combination of several different sliders (Dr. Ursus, Psycho and I'm blanking on the other name) currently.

I don't use API, don't use guess pitch and don't use the L-stick to bat (just press the X button).

Biggest thing for me was moving pitch speed to 0; with it there, I can see pitches better and actually turn on fastballs. As for user pitching, it's all about mixing things up. Don't throw guys the same pitches each at-bat and don't be afraid to walk guys, especially big boppers.
