    Baserunner speed at 7

I don't understand why every slider set has the baserunner speed at 5. It seems way too slow for me, and this is why...

    1. with baserunner speed at five i get thrown out at 2nd on a hit down the line that should be an easy double...w/ it at 7 i just barely make it in and i get 2 or 3 doubles a game...w/ it at 5 i've noticed any hit for a double HAS to be a ball that the fielder dives for and misses or either a ball that bounces off the wall...any hit down the line or in the gap is impossible to get a double on

    2. I'm able to steal bases more often, not ONLY when it's an offspeed pitch.

    3. also i've watched footage of real games of when there is a slow grounder to an infielder, normally the runner is only a step from being safe or out, and with it at 5 it seems like he will never get there

    4. also it helps the CPU score more runs, w/ the faster baserunning. Which has always been a topic of concern for me, since the CPU refuses to manufacture runs...

So I play w/ this baserunning slider at 7, can someone please tell why i should play w/ it at 5 because i really want to, but it just seems unrealistic to me

I also play w the baserunner speed up, but at 6 instead of 7. I find that even at 6 there are too many triples, usually when the ball rolls to the wall after a badly timed dive by the cpu. That being said, I keep it at 6 to lower the amount of double plays that result from fielder reaction at 10. Also, I think its waaaaayyyyy too hard to score from second on singles w default baserunner speed.

to counteract some of the frustration with fast or relatively fast guys not being able to make it to second safely on a shot down the line to the wall...as many of us discussed here wayyy back in April, there's a balance (not the same for all) that you have to set between:

      Fielder run speed
      Fielder reaction
      Base running speed...
all under the 'Global' heading under 'Game Sliders'

Keep in mind that each INDIVIDUAL player has his OWN reaction and baserunning attributes anyhow.....

      My settings:

      Fielder run speed 0
      Fielder reaction 0
      Baserunning speed 6

Trust me, I'm almost through in my first season franchise
(got about 4 games left)...and from game one...my sliders and gameplay settings were all over the place (like most of you out there). And that was fine, but almost every game I would play, if I saw something that I think needed to be bumped up or down, I would make a note on paper...

This went on I'd say at least to the All-Star break (in the game)....

And really since that time, I haven't touched the Global settings AT ALL...there may be tweaks in the INDIVIDUAL players' speed attributes, but that's it....

well, truth be told, we do have a segment of players who DO NOT BELIEVE in doing ANY slider adjustment..

I can't imagine not changing any of the sliders; at default every game the box score is something like 3 15 0 to 9 20 0. It becomes impossible to score from second base on singles, there are only singles and homeruns, and steal percentage is around 50%. I can understand the purist approach, but in the interest of the most realistic sim experience possible with the show '10 I think some adjustment is necessary.

            My settings
            Baserunner speed:6
            Fielder Reaction:10
            Fielder Run Speed:2
            Fielder Arm Strength:1
