Looking for a little slider input.

I'm playing around in the different modes waiting for monday's roster patch. But, I seem to have found a spot of difficulty. The CPU has just an ungodly eye. I have CPU timing and contact all the way at 0 which it says Contact effects plate disciplline/eye. And they still take pitches that are...an inch out of the strike zone. or breaking balls that start out fine, and finish millimeters away from being a called strike. I just can't get them to swing at stuff. And then I have to move pitches further inside, and they foul off over and over, and then get hits.

so, I'm wondering if perhaps having contact at 0 is almost making them too stupid, and perhaps it needs to be closer to 4-5 to "convince" them to swing?

I dunno, I've never had an issue quite like this in my years playing MLB:TS

just confused it seems. I'd appreciate any help someone could provide.

I put pitching on Legend and the hitting sliders for the cpu at zero and it is playing very realistic.

I was thinking the same thing that the cpu just has too good of an eye and always seem to tell what pitch I am throwing, so I was messing around with lower timing so that I can throw a mixture of fastballs and off-speed stuff to keep them off balance.

I will try the legend and zero out the sliders and see how that works.

I am a little annoyed because I created myself as a super stud SP and I have a 102 MPH fastball and a 70 MPH change, and you would think that this would mess them all up madly, as it does to me when I run into a pitcher with a good fast ball and a great change, but the cpu batters always seem to be able to sit back on the change and get wood on it.

when u play on legend with hitting sliders at zero are u putting both power and contact at zero or just power? cause my experience with the game hitting is hard as hell on all star but pitching is way to easy unless i turn it up to legend and then they just hit bombs..i want to use legend for pitching but i dont want to see homeruns at an alarming rate but i still want them to hit homeruns...see what im sayin?

I got my sliders basically set except for this very problem. I started on Legend pitching, the CPU crushed everything. Went to HoF, then I started pitching lights out. Now back on Legend, and getting crushed again. I actually had a game with 15 Ks on Legend, I have no idea how the **** it happened. I was the Ms, pitching with King Felix against the Pirates. I know it was just the Pirates but I really thought it would be impossible to get 15 Ks on Legend even with zeroed out hitting sliders for the CPU against the weakest team. However, next start with Felix and he gets lit up against just a decent team.

Anyone on legend finding any sort of cpu boosts so far? It's pretty standard for sports games to have something like that built into the game on the highest level.

Legend zeroes out just did not work for me, they were swinging at every first pitch and putting it in play, but I do not think I am that good at pitching after reading how other people fare on the default sliders.

I am currently zeroed out at Hall of Fame and like it so far, but need to play quite a bit more before I am sold. The CPU seem to be able to foul off A LOT of pitches so far, so I may need to mess around with the foul slider.

thanks for the replies, I'm gunna try some of the suggestions here, see how they fare. If anyone comes up with something solid, be sure to let me know.

I'm back on HoF for pitching using classic pitching, the meter is just too easy this year for me. I just couldn't tune CPU batting this year on Legend, I did it last year. And, I'm not even gonna try classic pitching on Legend
