If we Lower Solid Hits to Zero, What do we need to do to the Power Slider ?
I lowered the solid hits slider and I nailed 5 fastballs with perfect timing with 3 power hitters and got O homeruns. I did see more realistic balls put into play, but the power seemed lacking. I play on All-Star and am average to good at this game. I would appreciate some much needed advice about this. Is it appropriate to move the Human power slider to 7 and put the solid hit slider to 3 for the Human. It says in the game that Solid Hits effect BATTING AVERAGE, If this is true, then we have to lose some of the sweet spot when we turn down the solid hit slider. because a lot of batting average is determined by how often we hit the sweet spot. Thanks and I am looking forward to your input ... take careLast edited by Hypostatic; 03-11-2010, 04:45 AM.Tags: None -

First of all, adjust the sliders to wherever you need to in order to get realistic results. Secondly, you do not have to increase the power slider if you lower solid hits. I have the power slider at 2 right now with solid hits at 0, and I'm considering lowering it to 1. In fact, I have every hitting slider for both User and CPU below the default value. Solid hits doesn't effect batting average as much as you think; pitches that are hit well aren't really effected by the solid hits slider, those pitches are still hit pretty much as hard as they would be if solid hits was at default. Lowering solid hits has an effect on balls that aren't struck well, which are balls that normally aren't hits anyways. The timing slider probably has the biggest impact on batting average and even that slider doesn't do THAT much. -

Seriously though, do not base something in the game of baseball off of 5 results. Trust me, you will not be lacking for homers in the long run with sliders zeroed out. I've been playing with zeroed out solid hits for a few games now and am averaging about 2-3 homers per game. I believe my power slider is at 3 or 4 (will have to check later). I do know I have all my batting sliders except this one to within one or two of default, and like Phoenixmgs, any adjustments on them are all less than default. IMO this game requires minor tweaks with the exception of a very small minority of sliders. FWIW I also do not use power swing, I don't guess pitch, I don't move PCI, and I play on All Star. Play a few games and relax. Things will work out fine.Last edited by budsticky; 03-11-2010, 07:49 AM.Comment

You seem to be officially entering SLIDER HELL. Turn around now. There is no going back.

The people who constantly move sliders up and down based on the smallest of sample sizes amazes me.Comment
