Does anybody else feel that with the CPU solid hits at 0 that their offense is too weak? I've only played 2 games, won 9-3 and 6-1, it just felt that I was getting a few too many strikeouts pitching and the CPU didn't have much offense.

Re: *****The 'Perfect' Slider Set***** MLB 10 - The Show
To this point, my 1st 4 starters have era's under 2 (2 of em under 1). Now, that could be due to Spring training, and only pitching 3,4 or 5 innings. But, for me, the indicator is that I have 3 relievers who won't likely make the 25-man team with era's under 1.5 with pitching 10 IP.
I struggle with hitting, not striking out, but with NOT hitting routine grounders and fly balls. So, I get a lot of games going 1-1, or 2-1 into the late innings. My only runs seem to come on homers when I catch lightning in a bottle, or get lucky. *grin* I'm not sure what to do with the batting sliders because I'm getting routine flyballs on pitches that get quite a bit of the plate and then check my timing and it says "perfect", and I'm using decent hitters like TCQ, Konerko, and Teahen. I can handle Pierre not being able to hit the ball over someone's head ... but "some" of the hitters on the ChiSox ought to be able to do something when I do things right at the plate.
I can handle my not being good at hitting, due to being new to the show. But, not having to fear the AI hitters is something I can't deal with. With the changes I just mentioned, Buehrle gave up 3 runs in 5 innings to OAK, when I left a changeup over the plate and Ellis dropped it over the LF wall for a 2-run shot. His ERA "jumped" to 2.25, heh heh.
You have to hit your spots and the yellow line, and change speeds & location, or you'll suffer for it. That's what I prefer.GATEWAY TO GREATNESS: 2010 CARDINALS FRANCHISE

I'll plug these in. I'm only 2 games into my franchise..I'll try them for a good 2 or 3 turns through the rotation, before I post any stats/trends.Comment

Re: *****The 'Perfect' Slider Set***** MLB 10 - The Show
I remember either last year or the year before the Dodgers didnt score a single run for 4 games straight.
Can you imagine the reaction to that in the game?
Broken! lol.
Seriously, as Owl says, give it time, two games is nothing, if the CPU had put 10 and 9 on you would you then be saying they are too good?
As i said in the opening post on this thread, judging any slider set until at least 20/30 games is utterly worthless.Comment

If u want a true test pick a team ,start a franchise play all the spring training games. When your done look at the stats. This way it doesnt count but u will have a good sample size.Comment

Re: *****The 'Perfect' Slider Set***** MLB 10 - The Show
I've played at least 15 games using these sliders and I agree with the other comments, they're a bit too easy. The CPU's offense is lethargic, all of my starters have ERA's under 3 and I'm averaging about 6-10 runs per game. Unfortunately I don't think All-Star difficulty is the way to go this year. I think Pitching should be Legend and Hitting Hall of Fame.Comment

Re: *****The 'Perfect' Slider Set***** MLB 10 - The Show
Geez I find default all star to be plenty hard.
Heck, I had to lower the pitch speed for me, in order to pick up the dang breaking ball.
I may still have to do that, sliders or no.Comment

Re: *****The 'Perfect' Slider Set***** MLB 10 - The Show
Loving the sliders but man do I suck at hitting!!!! I may have to lower pitch speed just so I can actually determine pitch type and if it's in the zone. I have only played a couple of games and the only problem I am having is that the cpu seems to hit triples with ease. One game the Mets hit for 3 of them! Pretty much every game I have played there has been a triple by the cpu.Comment

Re: *****The 'Perfect' Slider Set***** MLB 10 - The Show
Try using the O's. My goodness, their pitching sucks. I was thinking the same thing as you were for the first 4 games I played. I went 3-1 giving up 2, 1, 3, and 3 to the AI in those games without seeing a home run in exhibition mode. Then, I started a franchise and the first 3 games, the Rays scored 9, 8, and 4 against me with 5 homers in the series, 3 of them coming opening night. Just stick with it man. I'm using meter pitching from the pitchers view, with the pitch ball marker to fade.Highheat's O's Franchise

Well, I dont get how anyone can say pitching is too easy lol.
I just had an Oliver Perez Special: 3.2 IP 9 hits, 7 runs, 3 earned, 3 walks, 5 K's, 75 pitches..and this is against that murderers row that the Nationals trot out.
I like that though. I should have that nonsense out of Oliver.Comment

Psycho, is this a swing only set, or are you using the left stick at all this year?Comment
