The Most Realistic Slider Set Ever... 10 The Show

Hello there everyone, if you dont know or remember me my name is Ballin095 and i created the most realistic slider set from last year that many of users vastly enjoyed. This year Im back with an updated set to compensate for this years version. First off let me start with what this slider set tries to impose and emphasize for the style of gameplay this year. For one, one of the major issues ive encountered while playing this game, especially when playing on the higher difficulty levels was the fact that the game felt as if it was scripted and unbalanced in terms of the hitter v pitcher duel. The second major issue that ive noticed while playing this game is the fact that the user control in this game feels a; almost non existent. This is especially noticeable if you're like me and use meter pitching. With this slider set, I aim at eliminating these and many other issues found in the game while still keeping this game challenging and realistic. Note: This slider set is very challenging. I highly recommend that if you are new this game that you dont use this slider set until you become very familiar with this game. With that being said here is my slider set.

    Settings:
    Hitting - All-Star
    Pitching- All-Star
(after some real close observation, i noticed that on legend, the ai is way too aggressive. This is still a setting u may want to try out yourself though)
    Guess Pitch - No feedback
    Pitch Interface - Meter
    Batting View -Offset
    Pitching View - Pticher
    Pitch Ball Marker - On
Umpire Strike Zone - Variable ( Completely Optional however)

    Sliders
    * Note if a slider isnt noted here leave it at default (5)
    * Each slider is set from 0, so if a slider says 2 for example, move the slider 2 times to the left from the bar being completely empty.

    User Sliders:
    Contact - 2
    Power - 2
    Fouls- 10
    Reliever - 0
    Pitcher Control -0
    Pitcher Consistency - 6

    CPU Sliders:
    Contact: 2
    Power - 2
    Fouls - 10
    Reliever - 0
    Pitcher Consistency - 4
    Pitcher Control - 0
    Strike Frequency - 0

    Global Sliders:
    Pitch Speed- 0 (Optional Slider)
    Errors(both sliders) - 7
    Pitch Speed - 0
    Fielder Reaction - 2
    Wind - 6

No to discuss some of my slide decisions and changes. First off is user and CPU contact and power settings. For contact, i basically did a couple games each setting beginning from 4. After a few games of adjusting this setting, i came to a consent that having this slider at 2 for both the user and CPU worked extremely well and realistically. Topple this with the foul slider for both the user and CPU and you will see that you will receive more frequent battles between you and the CPU and that you will see much more realistic counts for starting pitchers. The power setting i kind if played around with for a while and came to settle with the power setting at 2. At this setting you will see your big power threats still able to hit home runs but at a more controllable rate. Same with the rest of your team. No more will you see your number 8 hitter averaging 2 homers a game.

Now for the pitcher settings for the user and CPU. First ill start with the user pitcher settings. Many of you are looking at both settings and are probably like " WTF is this guy thinking???". Well once i explain myself you'll understand why the settings are so. The pitcher control setting at 0 is simply one of those settings that you dont know why it works, but it just does. After messing around with this slider for a long amount of time, the pitch meter seems to work it is designed to work in my honest opinion. If you are pitching with your staff ace, and you are continually hitting your release point with your pitches, its is extremely likely that those pitches are going to go where you want them to go. But if you are continually missing your spots, it will show in your overall pitcher performance. Thats not saying that you will automatically hit your spots, it just means your pitch will end in the area you set your original target to be. With that being said, that brings me into my setting, pitcher consistency. This slider pretty much validates the last point that I made in the last sentence. Your pitchers will most likely end up in the are that you attended it to. This slider i just kept playing with and I got the results that i wanted to get in terms of slider settings. Now for the CPU pitcher settings. A major issue that i noticed while playing the CPU is the fact that it seemed as if the CPU could pretty much pitch the ball wherever i0t wanted to whenever it wanted to. This became a major problem to me being that the CPU pitchers(specifically starters) didnt have realistic pitch counts and strike:ball ratios. With that being said, Im no going to into deep discussion why each one of these sliders are where its simply because that will take another paragraph to write, but know that with these settings, the CPU pitching just feels natural and very fluid.

Reliever stamina is self-explanatory relievers in this game just have way too much stamina. I have pitch speed at 0 and the batting camera to offset just so that you have time to read the pitch out of the pitchers hand and you are able to see the plate and the pitchers pitches very well while batting. Errors are at 7 just because i see more realistic results on game in terms of the amount of errors found in the game. I have arm strength at 0 so that those all-star caliber plays wont be so frequent in matches and t a more realistic pace. Fielder reaction time at 2 for again to limit those amazing all-star caliber plays. Fielder run speed at 0 so that fielders aren't as fast as Kenny Lofton while on the field. And wind at 6 just because i like the wind balance this way. And thats it. I hope you enjoy this slider set and please enjoy (Note, will be put this set up as soon as my ps3 is done downloading its update)

    Note: Edits will be bold.

Edit: fielder arm strength back to default

I have my own sliders, but I have been using CPU/User Control at 0 with raised Consistency, and CPU Strike Frequency at 0 as well.....it saved the game for me.

It feels much more natural. Aces still are tough, and the mediocre guys you can rattle a bit if they're having an off day.

I've been getting sick of the Robo CPU throwing nasty corner strikes.....this now feels more natural.

I'm seeing sick k/b ratios, being able to draw easy 3-4 walks, and i even GIVE up walks that feel natural too.....

Seems to me you're really trying to pump these sliders up. I played one game with them and am not sure yet. I'm going to play a few more and let you know what I think. A couple of quick questions though......Why did you leave cpu control default? And with fielder arm strength at 0 with baserunning all at default don't you think it will become to easy to steal or take the extra base?

1st on the cpu control, i have it at 0. srry about that,. I must have made a typo. In terms of arm strength, for stealing, the catchers arm strength is not affected at all. And for your concern about doubles, again doesn't effect it in a negative away. It actually works in a positive so that u can be more aggressive on the paths and it prevents god-like fielding abilities. Hope that helps a bit.

(Again srry for not editing pitcher control. Again forgot)

also guys, what i did last year was that i made separate sets, one easy set( for beginners/people still getting used to the game, normal/your average player, and hard/this set here). People really seemed to enjoy this variety in difficulty alot since it went with their skill level.

If enough people are interested, il be more than happy to do the same thing. the easy set will start at all-star, normal at hall-of-fame, and the hard set the one presented in this thread. Just if anyone is interested, let me know.

Just played my second game with them and I'm still not sure what I think yet. I noticed alot of strikeouts by both me and cpu. I blame myself for lack of concentration on about 4 of my k's. Even though I lost 9-0 the game wasn't that out of hand. I had 7 hits to the cpu 12. Neither team made an error. The cpu had 26 fouls compared to my 10. I'm going to give them another game or two until I make my final decision. They are pretty challenging though. I think contact being so low is affecting the strikeout numbers. I walked 3 batters which was nice. I only drew 1 walk but I really think it's more of me playing poorly.

edit to anyone whos viewing these sets. If you are currently having trouble with hitting/pitching, lower that difficulty until u feel comfortable. For example if you are struggling hitting while on legend, then you go ahead and move the hitting difficulty down to hall of fame.

Again surprised no one is even commenting on these lol expect a couple people.

Fielder reaction so low really makes it hard to play with these. I'm going to be honest with you I really didn't like these all that much.

like the honesty. i lowered reaction so that it will lower the number of "all-star" plays made int he infield and outfield.

I dont think reaction has an effect on OFers
