1st Month Stats, Default Sliders-Feedback Wanted

OK, after one month of the schedule here are my NY Yankee stats using default sliders with the exception of Manager Hook (6) and Pickoffs (3). Some numbers seem pretty good, others are just a bit out of whack which I will hilight in red. Any suggestions you guys may have for slider adjustments please let me know. I already have some ideas on what I want to do but I just want some additional input. I'm only listing the basic stats.

    BATTING AVG HR RBI BB
    Thames .412 2 6 0
    Teixeira .387 2 16 5
    Granderson .370 7 13 1
    Gardner .333 0 2 2
    Pena .333 0 3 0
    Jeter .323 2 10 3
    Cano .309 5 22 1
    Rodriguez .302 8 16 5
    Johnson .296 1 8 8
    Posada .287 2 10 2
    Swisher .259 6 18 3
    Cervelli .214 0 0 1
    Winn .176 0 2 0
    TOTALS .317 35 126 31

    PITCHERS W L S ERA BB K
    Pettitte 4 0 0 5.54 7 25
    Sabathia 3 1 0 4.71 12 30
    Vazquez 1 0 0 4.30 3 22
    Hughes 1 1 0 5.63 11 14
    Chamberlain 1 0 1 2.57 5 13
    Aceves 1 1 0 5.40 3 12
    Mitre 1 1 0 4.61 5 10
    Burnett 0 2 0 5.17 11 29
    Rivera 0 1 6 6.23 0 6
    Park 0 1 0 12.71 3 4
    Marte 0 0 0 1.93 3 10
    Robertson 0 2 0 2.16 7 7
    TOTALS 12 10 7 4.89 70 182

As you can see my walk totals are low, my team BA seems high as do certain individual BA's. Granted I am using the Yankees but I don't think there should be that many guys hitting over .300.
My ERA is disgusting at almost 5, and there are some individual ERA's which seem way off. Yankees pitchers are better than my ERA's show. Chan-Ho Park's is high but that's my own doing. I got so mad in a game I left him in there to take a beating.
I forgot to write it down but by memory I am leading the league in team AVG, HR, RBI, but last in walks. I am first in K's (pitching) but I am last in the AL in ERA. Walks allowed I was right in the middle.
Anyway, feel free to offer any suggestions.

Seems like your games are high on offense for both sides with your high averages and high ERA's. I think a few subtle changes would make a surprising difference based on my results, as I've settled on near default slider set. Try moving contact and solid hits down to 4 for yourself and CPU. Then move pitcher consistency to 6 for both. At default, that slider seems to produce too many wild pitches and hit batters. At 6 it's better and I still walk a lot of batters using classic pitching. That should all keep the offenses a little more realistically in check.

In terms of the walks, you will have to drop the CPU's strike frequency down. I've seen people use it anywhere from 0-default. At default the CPU seems to be throwing too many first pitch strikes. Constantly hitting behind in the count in this game is a big challenge because of all the corner nibbling where a lot of pitches end up in the 'variable umpire' zone where they could call it either way. I have strike frequency at 4. It's OK, but am really struggling to draw deep counts. I had it at 3, but was almost getting ahead in too many counts against good pitchers. I think 4 is the right number once I get more AB's and learn to better recognize balls/strikes from the pitcher's hand.

Re: 1st Month Stats, Default Sliders-Feedback Wanted

      Thanks for the advice.
I just played 2 games using the sliders ParisB posted in another thread. What a huge difference. I didn't get torn apart by the bottom of the WhiteSox lineup. One thing I did notice is my starters(Pettitte & Vazquez) were a little dominant, although the Sox are ranked around 20th in batting. My bullpen struggled again as Chan Ho Park couldn't get anyone out. His ERA is now over 15. I won game one 3-1, which was close until Granderson hit a homer in the 8th and Mo got the Sox 1-2-3 in the 9th. Game 2 Vazquez left in the 6th with a 2-0 lead, but Park gave up 4 to put the Sox ahead in top of the 7th. A 2-run homer by Teixeira tied it in the 8th and then in the 9th after a walk to Granderson Swisher hit a game-winning HR.
Games felt real smooth. I kept with my theory of whatever the solid hits slider is the fielder speed and reaction sliders should be equal to that. I actually saw some animations I hadn't seen yet. It's obvious the CPU offense is there, probably will be more evident with a beter hitting team. I play the Orioles next and they tore the cover off the ball against me in my previous series.
But all the numbers of that last series vs Chicago were right where I was hoping them to be. I will probably stick with these for the next month of my schedule and then make whatever changes from there.

I think the offense is right where it should be.

after one month hitting .317 can be cause for some alarm, but keep in mind, the Averages go up and down more drastically early on.
        I see that evening out.

        I dont know
I think i'd live with these.
tho liek it was stated, a few tweaks here and there wont hurt. mostly on the CPU hitting side of things.
tho knowing who the yanks played [a lot of tough teams in april] i'd actually tweak USER pitching settings instead.

I usually dont comment in the slider threads because they are so subjective, but your thread title looked interesting. In regards to walks I have 62 through 20 games with all default sliders. Imo, it boils down to the pitchers gameplan that game. For example, Ben Sheets last night kept throwing 2 balls then 3 strikes in a row to my first 6 guys, a pattern I picked up on by the 7th hitter. Now he kept forcing the issue and was going for strikeouts in the first few innings, but then he mixed it up and try to get me chasing and yielded 2 walks (back to back) in the 4th on the 6th pitch. I have seen it the opposite way also. I try not to think about walks in the early innings and try to get comfortable with the plan that pitcher is trying to establish( hopfully running up the pitch count). Most of the walks I draw ( unless they are just wild) come in the middle to late innings when I get to the bullpen.

Interesting...here's my 2 cents. You have your staffs ERA's highlighted because they are on the high side but I noticed your offensive numbers. IMO the ERA's on your team are high because the CPU is putting out more offense to keep up with yours. I've noticed that when I get a big lead the CPU starts taking great pitches and doing some amazing things with them in order to manufacture runs.

I'm basically going to end up saying to try my sliders so I'll just say it now because that's what I'd end up saying in a very long way anyways. At least check out my slider descriptions. Slider sets aren't difficulty specific either.

The game is scripted to have high scoring games and low scoring games in groups or alone. But, one full month is pretty lengthy. Look at the following first 9 games of my season:

Then, right after that, scores consistently dropped for whatever reason. Play a game over again that feels artificially high scoring or a pitching duel, and you'll see the same game every time. This game has way too much confidence coded into it. I somehow got to the bigs in my first year of RTTS, and I hit above .300 for awhile just because I was hot.
