Dorismary, do you think you can post or PM me your sliders from Gameplay Options (profile) to GP Options (Global)? I would very much appreciate it. Since by reading a lot of your posts in the Slider Section it seems we might play and look for the same type of gameplay 'Feel'.

Re: Default Slider Observation
Im not playing default Veteran but I feel its the best Base to start on for Realistic FAIR games without the crazy cpu AI stuff .
I mean on Allstar theres way too much boost in the AI on that level but On VETERAN its not as strong which leads too more enjoyable games fair games win or lose and your not sitting there pulling your hair out wonder what just happened .
Personally I don't like hitting .330 with everybody and having a team ERA of 2.20 on VeteranComment

Re: Default Slider Observation
For those who doubt the VETERAN level you can make it as easy or as hard as you want without the cpu advantage at key times .
I m basically using Titus Veteran sliders in the slider forum with no frustration or constant slider tweaking , just alot of playing !Comment

I do agree that Veteran seems to provide the basis for the most realistic gameplay; it was like this for 09 as well.
I'm not very good right now on default. I think I'm hitting .245 and my ERA is 3.99. So, I'll probably stick with default for now and then as I play more, look into that Veteran set by Titus.Currently Playing:

Sorry, didn't mean to imply you were on default Veteran.

I find it very sad many here just cant accept the game for everything it does well .
I mean some just played a great 4-3 10 inning game and then complain and try to tweak stuff because the starting pitcher pitched 110 pitches not realistic enough ?for sanitys sake you gotta draw the line somewhere and just enjoy playing the game .

Re: Default Slider Observation
I tried veteran but didn't feel the CPU was as aggressive as it is on all star. They seemed a bit too easy to strike out with default sliders.
The whole key to the game for me this year is what level plays best with default. I was getting too caught up and burnt out trying to find a good slider set to my liking and my ability. Fighting the "should I change this, and will it effect this? What if I left this alone but changed this?" kind of thing I was going through. I just was spending too much time adjusting and not enough time playing.
That being said I truly enjoy default all star. Does it have its faults? Sure it does. Does the CPU seem invincible at times? Absolutely. But after toying with so many sets I feel I get the most satisfaction out of what I see with default.
OK, I am stepping off my soap box now.then i did enjoying the game.. i just said hell with it and went with Allstar Default, and after 100 games played on Allstar Default, i'm not looking back.. my slider changing days are over, i'm loving Allstar default

You sound exactly like i did when i got the game when it first came out.. i spent more time changing sliders and getting frustratedthen i did enjoying the game.. i just said hell with it and went with Allstar Default, and after 100 games played on Allstar Default, i'm not looking back.. my slider changing days are over, i'm loving Allstar default
I just zeroed that slider b/c last year's game, the pitch speed seemed way too fast for me. I think they've toned it down this year.Currently Playing:

If I remember correctly my issues were all balls being hit were smashed , so I lowered solid hits , then pitch counts were way off and the cpu threw too many strikes , ect ect but its great your not tweaking every little thing and your enjoying the gameComment

Re: Default Slider Observation
Where do you have Pitch Speed set at? I'm on AS default, too, aside from Pitch Speed at zero. But, I'm thinking that's too low as I'm still getting too many hits for my liking.

Re: Default Slider Observation
Allstar default was very good out of the box this year but over time you do notice alot of its shortcomings on that level.

Re: Default Slider Observation
i'm seeing everything at default, blowouts, pitching duels slow weak grounders, hard shots down the line little dunkers just landing over the infielders, just a nice balance.. an example is in my game last night of my season using the Angels, i had awesome game going against Detroit.. game tied 1-1 in the 10th only a total of 7 hits between the two teams, nothing hit solid then bottom of the 10 me at home, i hit a dribbler right up the middle that barely got by a diving short stop and 2nd basemen with a guy on second for the walk off win.. then another game i had was a 10-9 shootout loss at NY with an Arod walk off dinger to straight away center.. i've seen it all, weak hits, solid hits, shutouts, blowouts the whole 9.. i believe it's all in the pitching.. you must make the computer chase at times and hit you re pitch.. i throw lots of changeups, curves, & sliders on fastball counts, and fastballs on breaking ball counts, i throw out of the zone often and just pitch backwards and out of the zone, and for the most part it works.. for instance, i'll have a 3-1 count on a batter, a great fastball count, and i will throw a nasty curve down and away, have good success pitching like that.. on 0-2 counts allot of times the computer could be geared for a breaking pitch, then i will bust them up and in with a fastball.. you must pitch like that in this game, keep the batters off balance.. allstar default has been a blast for me
Oh, and it looks like I'll keep pitch speed at zero for a while longerNolasco owned me in my last Mets franchise game. Only managed 2 hits and struck out 8 times ... but I didn't lose the game!
I was down 3-0 in the 7th when Angel Pagan cracked a 2-run home run to RF to bring the score to 3-2. In the 8th, I managed to get to the Fla. bullpen, played some small ball and pushed 3 runs across and wound up winning 5-3. I had 7 hits, Fla. had 8.
Oh, and it is so cool how they do the separate intros for closers in the game. Love the camera view for that.Currently Playing:

Game 1 I won easily 7-2. Burnett dominated giving up only 2 runs on 5 hits in 7 innings while striking out 8 and walking 2.
RBI singles by Teixeira and Cano and 2 run homers by Jeter and Granderson got me out to a 6-0 lead in the 4th and that's all I would need.
Game 2 was a pitchers' duel between Pettitte and Perez, at least until Perez got hurt in the 5th. Mets bullpen shut me down until a solo HR by Swisher leading off the 9th. That was the only extra base hit of the game as I only had 4 singles and allowed only 2 singles to David Wright for the Mets' only 2 hits.
Since realizing I wasn't focusing enough on my pitching I have won 6 of 7 and have pitched some good games, except one vs the Rays.Comment

Re: Default Slider Observation
So you guys are playing straight Default Allstar NOTHING changed ? except maybe pitch speed .
So pitch counts are fine you get and throw walks , Reliever stamina at 5 , cpu throws strikes at 5, cpu pickoff at 5 ect . ?
Just wondering cause when I played default Allstar I had issues with alot of those , not huge but a problem over time .
Thanks for your responseComment

Pitch Speed, which I have at zero. Personal preference, obviously.
CPU Strike Frequency: down two clicks to 3. May bump that down another click.
Reliever Stamina: down two clicks to 3. Think it's good here but may go one lower.
That's it. I'm not drawing a ton of walks, but usually get 1-2 a game if I'm patient enough. Pitch counts are a little low for the CPU just b/c of the number of strikes they throw, but I can live with it.Currently Playing:
