How do you shake off catcher when using API?

I was wondering does anyone know how to shake off catcher so he's call another pitch when using API/?I'm not sure how to do this.

You can't shake him off. You just have to pick a different pitch.

It would be a nice authentic detail if you can call him off and wait for a different sign though, even though it doesn't affect gameplay since you can just pick any pitch you want anyway.

You can press L1 to step off if you want him to give you another sign.

Does he place a different sign for you if you do this? I know I've stepped off the mound after picking a pitch I didn't want, but didn't notice whether the catcher called a different sign the 2nd time around.

either way, that's the not the same as shaking off....you might as well just select whatever pitch you want instead of stepping off every single time until you finally get the pitch you want. That's not realistic.

From what I've seen most of the time the catcher calls the same pitch, but will occasionally call for a different pitch.
