    CPU Errors Question

I'm starting to notice a trend:

The CPU makes some interesting looking errors on Default, but just a tad a little too few based on real MLB averages.

I watch a lot of baseball, am my gut tells me that I should bump throwing errors a click (and possibly fielding errors the same), but for the life of me, I can't find a reliable statistical breakdown of real MLB throwing versus fielding errors. I only see errors in general.

Some guys have already bumped fielding errors...but I haven't seen anyone posting that they touched the throwing errors slider.

Aren't throwing errors more common at the MLB level?

Are you guys seeing enough throwing errors at Default...or errors in general?

I've yet to see a throwing error at all...Uh, by the CPU anyway..***LED as an error, BTW... I have a ton myself though.

Does anyone have any general error observations so far? Any input would be appreciated.

    Re: CPU Errors Question

It's not a stats we can get from box score easily so I'm unfortunately not keeping track of it, but the MLB ave can be viewed here:

TE (throwing errors) and FE (fielding errors)

      Thanks.

I didn't tally up the columns, but gosh...there's really no rule of thumb to take away from that. Some teams have a lot of one, and not the other. Some vice versa, and some nearly are dead even.

      That's good to see.

But, in general, using your baseball radar, is you're gut telling you anything as far as the game is concerned? Or do you pretty much like what default has to offer for both?

Anecdotally, at default I'd say there are far more throwing errors in The Show '11 than fielding errors. That doesn't seem to tally with those stats from fangraphs. I guess the hardcore realist in me thinks putting the fielding errors slider up and throwing errors down could solve that problem but since overall miscues are about right I'll leave that project for someone else.

If you go into the Replay section at the end of games you can filter just to show the errors. It also gives a brief description of each error so it would be fairly easy to track. I always look through that section at the conclusion of games so I don't count the 'ball four in the dirt' errors on catchers.

Is ball 4 in the dirt being ruled an error this year?!?!?!

I haven't seen it yet, but last year, they had to patch that. If so, please report it.

Oh I hope they got rid of the ball four -> error glitch... don't hey??

Throwing vs fielding error may be good to track for new games. I'm not close to PS3 and I cannot check, but I may start tracking if it's easy to get from replay or game log. We have different sliders for each so why not, ha. And throwing and fielding errors do have different consequences in games, so if they are way off it may be good to correct. Just for fun.

It definitely still happens, in cpu-cpu games anyway. I've had nine now in 120 games. Probably slightly less prevalent than in was last year (pre-patch) but occurring nonetheless. I've already put it in the bugs thread.
