    Sliders and non-user controlled teams

Quick question...do sliders have any effect on the statistics generated during season games for non-user controlled teams?

I haven't made many adjustments to the sliders for my own games, in fact the cpu hitting sliders are at the default level. As it is, I feel like I may be giving up too few homers to the computer...although last night I got lit up for 3 in the first inning. Thinking back on it, I seem to spread them out, several games with no long balls, then I get rocked in one game.

Anyway, though, that's not my biggest concern. Last night Miguel Cabrera was one of the three 1st inning homers, and the announcers mentioned it was his 10th of the season. So, I just logged into MLB.com and noticed that as of today, May 2, there are two big leaguers (Soriano and Braun) with 10, and Jose Bautista has 9.

But, in my season, I am a bit behind realtime (April 23). On April 23rd in real life, Soriano was stuck on 6, Braun hit #7, and Bautista hit numbers 6 and 7. My user-controlled team leaders are around those numbers (Dunn with 6--5 and 6 came last night, Quentin with 5).

So, my question is this: I didn't check the rest of the league leaders in my season, but chances are there may be some other folks with gaudy numbers, and if Cabrera keeps up at that pace, he'll have close to, or over, 60 homers...is this something that will balance out? do any of the sliders control the numbers generated for non-user controlled teams? should I adjust anything?

They will balance out over the course of season, but at default the game is a bit power friendly. So I won't be surprised at the end of the season you see too many HRs. Lowering the CPU power slider by one (or two) click down would do the trick for you.

Having said that, the sliders for the most part won't affect "simmed" game results (except manager hook, stamina, and injuries related ones). It only affects game play.

Re: Sliders and non-user controlled teams

      Thank you.

I thought they were "gameplay" sliders, but I wasn't sure, and didn't want to post a meaningless thread. So, I appreciate your helpful response.
