    In Game Injuries

    Hey guys,

Just wanted to check in and see if anyone has been seeing in game injuries at all. I have seen a few in the past when playing exhibition games, but 30 games into my Nationals Franchise (played every game), I haven't seen a single injury. Am I missing something? Obviously when I sim the other games, injuries pop up, but I have my slider set to 1 on Injuries for simming and 10 for when I play. Any idea of what I could missing? Should the profile for injuries be set to auto or Manual when playing? I might have it on manual and maybe that's why???

Need your help guys. Please respond. It's not very realistic to see ZERO injuries. And that's for both me and the CPU when playing. Thanks,

    Brian

    Re: In Game Injuries

I'm 40 games into my Braves franchise, and I've seen 3-4 that happened in-game for my team, and I know I've seen at least 1-2 for the cpu as well.

Luckily they've all been minor so far. Jair Jurrjens had some kind of soreness, and had to leave the game after the first pitch. Freddie Freeman had a minor one sliding into second, and so did Chipper after attempting to dive for a line drive. And I'm pretty sure Hanson had one too, but he didn't miss his next start.

This is all with the injury slider at default. Sometimes they just come in spurts... I think all of the injuries I just mentioned came in the first 2 weeks of the season. Haven't had one since.

Also, keep in mind that you don't always notice when the CPU has an injury. I know I've missed a couple by skipping over cut scenes, and then not realizing that the cpu went ahead and made a substitution.

It's weird, I've seen injuries every 5th game or so in exhibition's but in my franchise I've seen ZERO. It's just weird. I'm wondering if maybe the slider is backwards for in-game injuries. Might be worth testing. Have you looked at testing that?

        Re: In Game Injuries

I'm seeing my fair share in game.

Paul Koenerko was out for about 4 days with a hamstring pull. Oddly, though, I didn't see this injury, I got a message during the lineup selection screen that he had done it in pre-game batting or fielding practice. That ticked me off--first injury I sustained.

Omar Vizquel, giving my starting 2B a day off, hurt his hammy diving for a ground ball.

Carlos Quentin is in the middle of a 1 - 2 month shoulder separation. Going after a fly ball, he never got into his catch animation, the ball hit him, and then I was informed he was injured.

In game I've also seen injuries to my opponents...mostly minor stuff related to fielding, although Adam Dunn smashed a 102mph line drive off of KC pitcher Hochevar's face--broke his nose and he was out for 2 -3 weeks.

I'm playing on veteran, with mostly default sliders, except after Koenerko's freak incident I did drop injuries down 1 notch (so if 5 is default, I have it set at 4). And, I've still seen those other injuries.

Hmmm. It seems guys are seeing more injuries when playing at default than I am at 10....We could have a backwards slider or something screwy. Im going to look into this. Try playing some games at 5 and work my way up and down. If anyone else has seen a good amount at a certain setting, let me know. And Chris I know that you were ticked, but that's pretty cool that someone got hurt in pre-game warmups. This game has everything in it!

            Re: In Game Injuries

I don't think any of the sliders are backwards, but the injury slider seems to be less effective in game, compared to when games are being simulated.

I'm sure you've probably already done this, but you may want to double check that you don't have injuries set to off or manual. And if you have cpu roster control turned on, you won't see any injuries either.

Btw, many of the sliders are pretty subtle. So even if you're not seeing a ton of injuries at 10, doesn't mean the slider is backwards. But if you think it is, by all means, test it out on 0 for a while.

I have CPU roster control set to manual. I think I have injuries set to manual, but doesn't that only affect whether or not I am in charge of if I put players on the DL or take them out of the lineup, etc???

The stealing ability slider is backwards. That one is confirmed, so maybe this one in game is too.

                Re: In Game Injuries

Just to be clear, there's two different "injuries" options, and "manual" is a choice for both of them, and they both do different things.

In Gameplay options, the "injuries" option affects the occurrence of injuries. If it is set to "manual" you will never get any random injuries. "Manual" is for making up your own injuries and assigning them to players, useful for those who want to copy real life rosters, or take out their aggressions on certain players. This might be your problem, make sure this option is set to "on," or else you will not see injuries.

In Mode options, the other "injuries" option simply affects responding to injuries. If you set this to "manual" you have full control over whether injured players are on the DL or stay on your roster, etc... "MLB only" gives you manual control over your MLB roster injuries, but automatically deals with your minor league ones, and "auto" lets the CPU deal with your injuries, but you will still get them.

Bobhead you are savior to these boards. I am pretty sure I have my Gameplay option to Manual and that's been my issue. Thanks as always,

No injuries? Be happy, in my Rangers franchise I have Murphy, Kinsler, & Napoli all injured and this is in the 1st month, and I play all games..

Having to dig deep into the rookies to stay afloat in the NL East.

I played with the slider at 6 for about 40 games, and now have at 7 for the last 12 games or so. I had a pre-game injury to Weeks, losing him for a few days, but not a single in-game injury at 7, and previously with the slider at 6 only 4 in-game injuries for the CPU, and 3 for me, none of mine were for more than a few days.
