    Sliders for RttS game watch.

Sorry if this has been discussed before but I have never really seen a definitive answer.

I play as a pitcher in Road to the Show and often times I like use the Result Play to see what happens when I come out of the game. Every once in a while I'll watch the Result Play for games while I'm pitching (when my team is batting). I started the All-Star Game and decided to watch the result of each at-bat, and what I've seen makes me think that sliders affect CPU vs. CPU.

Maybe I'm stating the obvious, but I thought that when you watched the result play it had nothing to do with sliders. I think it does though.

I watched the All-Star game and the American League won 3-0. The runs were scored on an error I believe and there was a complete lack of offense.

I play on All-Star with CPU power at 4, CPU solid hits at 3 and timing at 4. Is this resulting in the lack of offense when I watch games or is it just a strange coincidence?

I think as long as you play through gameplay and not sim, the sliders affect those parts.

I've been playing tons of RTTS games, and there is plenty of offense. However, some have seen lack of offense in minors using OSFM rosters, which seems to be a result of alleviating the franchise glitches that have not been fixed by rating minors conservatively...

So I have CPU power at 4, CPU timing at 4 and CPU solid hits at 3. This affects my hitters when I'm watching from the dugout? If so, that sucks. So far I've just chalked it up to the fact that I play for the Angels and we've traded away all of our good hitters. My team MIGHT score 1 or 2 runs for me in a game. I'd be 20-0 if I played for the Red Sox or Yankees.

I think so. I use the result play often as well and if it's gameplay, it is gameplay... However, if you use the OSFM roster, that may be a bigger factor in minor leagues.

I'm in the MLB. I've often wondered if (when you use result play) the CPU simulates the results and then simply plays it out on the screen. OR do you think the game "simulates" what happens live as the pitch is being thrown?

In other words, would the exact same thing have happened if you just simmed to your next appearance?

Whatever it is, I need to get it where I like it. I LOVE watching the games. I find myself rooting on my teammates. I only wish there was a way to watch games I'm not playing in. Especially when I (hopefully) make the playoffs one day.

In MLB the roster probably isn't an issue then...

I know by tracking the stats the sim and gameplay engines are different. Not being a dev, exactly how different I don't know of course...

My guess is that sim engine works like text-based sim (basically dice rolls using player ratings), whereas the gameplay is more detailed, incorporating some game physics, etc. So even if the game results are precomputed in gameplay (which of course has some limit since user input needs to be taken care of almost real time), how those results are determined are different for sim and gameplay.

That's my guess... But I know most sliders don't affect simmed games.

Not sure what your ultimate goal is, but if the offense of your team is really low then its CPU offense sliders you need to increase. Now that will make your opponents better in hitting, but you need to deal with it in other ways.

Or maybe you could decrease CPU pitching sliders.
