Currently: All Star, Zone, No Power Swing, No guess pitch

I will see how things play out and let you know if it continues to be an issue...

Re: TNK - 2012 Realism Sliders Thread

(edit: all this using front page sliders, any adjustments are mentioned)

does anyone know how (or if) sliders interact with PS move? I used the front page sliders with the royals using PS move for pitching and batting. (not fielding catching though, just throwing)

Opening game against the angels I set the batting/pitching at veteran. Pitching felt perfect really, 9 hits against me, a couple big hits.. Batting though I launched like 8 home runs, 3 of them back to back in an inning, a ton more hits.. ended up with 26 hits.

I bumped batting alone up to all star, and it fell into play. I still belted 4 homers (my only runs) but had some good hits, just bad hits with runners in scoring position.. ended with 13 hits. I'm wondering if that's just my play vs all star or if sliders actually matter using the Move in franchise.

I don't use the move - no idea how these play with the move

I will be beginning my franchise with the Red Sox tonight. I will be keeping track of my games and franchise progress in this thread. I just need to wrap up some of my stuff I'm doing with Sounds of The Show and Roster Edits, etc.

^^^^ I wish I could get less doubles lol. I'd say half of my hits are doubles (and about 75% of those are ground rule doubles).

                    TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE

GAME #1 (OPENING DAY) Pitching Matchup - Jon Lester vs. Justin Verlander

It's Opening Day and the Red Sox begin the 2012 season in Detroit as they send Jon Lester to the mound to face reigning AL MVP & Cy Young winner Justin Verlander. The Red Sox threatened in the top of the 2nd as they had men on but Verlander got Saltalamacchia to ground out to end the inning. Prince Fielder led off the 2nd inning in his 1st at bat as a Detroit Tiger and he launched a solo HR 412 feet to RF to give his team a 1-0 lead. The Red Sox threatened again in the top of the 4th as Youkilis singled and Sweeney walked to start the inning, but Verlander got Ross to ground into a 6-4-3 double play and Saltalamacchia flew out to end the inning. The Red Sox bats finally got to Verlander in the top of the 5th when Mike Aviles walked to begin the inning, Jacoby Ellsbury was up next and he stroked a double into the gap in left center to score Aviles and tie the game at 1-1. Dustin pedroia was up next and he singled to RF to score Ellsbury and give the Sox a 2-1 lead. The Tigers took the lead back in the bottom of the 5th when Lester made a colossal mistake and hung a curveball to the #9 hitter Ramon Santiago who just cleared the LF wall for a 2-run HR to put Detroit on top 3-2. Jacoby Ellsbury singled with 1 out in the top of the 7th and that would be the night for Verlander as he would leave with a 3-2 lead and The Tigers would turn to Phil Coke out of the pen. Ellsbury stole 2nd base to get into scoring position but Coke would get out of the inning and the game would go to the bottom of the 7th with Detroit leading 3-2. Ryan Raburn reached base in the bottom of the 7th after a great diving stop from Pedroia but he threw the ball away aloowing Raburn to reach base. Ramon Santiago came through again for the Tigers as drove in a run with a 2 out triple into the gap in right center to make it 4-2 and end the night for Lester as the Sox would bring in Vicente Padilla from the bullpen. The Red Sox went quielty in the top of the 8th while Padilla and Franklin Morales pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the 8th to send the game to the 9th inning with Detroit leading 4-2. The Tigers turned to closer Jose Valverde for the 9th and Valverde would retire the side in order to record the save as the Red Sox lose the openere by a score of 4-2.

                    * The Red Sox made Varlander work hard for his outs as they had many deep counts and drew 4 walks off the Tigers ace.

                    * Ramon Santiago was the unlikely offensive hero for the Tigers as he was 2 for 3 with a triple, a home run and 3 RBI

I am finding this also. also I continue to get very high hit numbers for both teams. i have the sliders set exactly as the first page with the difficulty the same as well and after 22 games all but 3 games have had both teams in double digits for hits per game.

For high hit number try to set down timing on both to 4. i really appreciate now.

I'm trying Timing and Classic pitching with these. Had a nice game of the Red Sox (me) vs Yankees. Went extra innings to the 13th until walk-off homer. I struck out 9, and walked 9 (all time high in the show!). Glad I'm walking people though as it was very rare in past games while using just meter. I'm sure I'll tone it down from 9 though. One odd and annoying thing was that the Yankees kept Boone Logan in the game for 5 innings of relief even though only one reliever was used before him.

Red Sox 2 runs, 9 hits, 1 error
                          Yankees 3 runs, 7 hits

The numbers of hits match really well the numbers in reality one but walk are really tight to do.
After watching tv in this beginning of season i saw also that many runs were done by homers.. For me are perfect this sliders.

Game two of my Toronto Franchise and a very different game than my first. My 7 hits were all singles, and I swing way too much at pitches that are above the zone, it's my biggest issue. The CPU only seems to score on HRs, and I don't want to neuter them by dropping power, but The Show has always had some issues with this. I like the fact that we combined for 11 runs on game one and came back with 3 in game two...very good variety.

Switched back to Timing hitting for a game after using Zone hitting my past few games to kind of get a comparison between the two. Beat the Pirates 10-0! Scored all those runs without the benefit of any home runs too.

I'm going to play a few more games with Timing (which I used last year too) and make a final decision on what I want to stick with.

Sliders are great though. Been getting a lot of different variety game to game.
