Re: TNK - 2012 Realism Sliders Thread
I was just skimming through the sliders area and noticed that my human hitting, human pitching, and CPU hitting sliders are identical to TNK's. However, I'm using veteran rather than All Star for hitting. On pitching, I use All Star. I'm using timing as well and seem to be getting pretty good results too. Walks are def on the low side but I can't seem to find that middle ground yet. This year, I just am not a good enough hitter on All-Star; it was not fun at all. But on veteran, with these sliders regarding timing I'm having a much more enjoyable experience and that is what its about for me. Still getting great variety. I'm batting .254 with the Mets. The ONLY thing I have to work on is walks because as I'm sure you know, on veteran difficulty the pitcher pounds the strike zone. The only changes are as follows for CPU pitching- Pitch control- 3, pitcher consistency- 2, strike frequency- 0. Veteran hitting. Everything else is identical to TNK.Comment

I am struggling with the tribe also, most of my losses were fair though, but it is really frustrating to get shut-out. I notice when im ahead in runs the computer pulls some bullsh*t outta nowhere and comes back to win.Buckeyes-- Indians-- Browns-- Cavs

When i'm winning it's seems that cpu must score sooner as possible and i can't stay ahead For one inning also.
I dunno why, and When i win, i win only with 1 run of gap, i never won by 3-0 or 5-1, always 3-2 or 4-3.Comment

Re: TNK - 2012 Realism Sliders Thread
Using Timing, I lowered wind to 0 (i think it has too much effect on the game, this may be overboard) and also moved contact up 1 for CPU & User. Everything else is the same as TNK using timing for me.Comment

I notice the same and it's starting to suck the fun out of what is otherwise an awesome sports game. No other sports title with the exception of NBA2k gives me more of a feeling of AI comeback logic.Comment

TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE
BOSTON RED SOX @ DETROIT TIGERS
GAME #3 of the season (Pitching Matchup - Clay Buchholz vs. Max Scherzer)
The Boston offense went to work in the top of the 1st inning as David Ortiz drove a high fastball from Scherzer 432 feet for a 2-run HR to straight away CF to give the Sox an early 2-0 lead. The Tigers would get an RBI single by Fielder to cut the lead to 2-1 in the bottom of the 1st and loaded the bases but Buchholz got Johnny Peralta to ground out to end the inning. Boston added a run in the top of the 3rd after a walk to Aviles and an Ellbury single to leadoff the inning, Pedoria bunted the runners over and Adrian Gonzalez drove Aviles in on a groundball out to make it 3-1. Cody Ross got the green light on a 3 and 0 count in the top of the 4th and crushed a fastball over the bullpens in LF for a solo HR to extend the Red Sox lead to 4-1. Detroit picked up a run in the bottom of the 4th on a RBI double by Raburn but Buchholz was able to escape further damage as he picked up his 5th K when he froze Santiago with a curveball to end the inning. The Sox got an RBI double by Gonzalez int he top of the 5th to push their lead to 5-2. Buchholz put together a 6 pitch 1-2-3 inning in the bottom of the 5th and the game would go to the 6th inning with Boston leading 5-2. The Boston offense exploded in the top of the 6th as Daniel Schlereth replaced Scherzer on the mound for the to start the inning and issued back to back walks to Youkilis & Sweeney to begin the inning, Schlereth then struck out Ross & Shoppach before Mike Aviles put together a tremedous 9 pitch at bat and grounded an RBI single up the middle to drive in Youkilis and make it 6-2. Jacoby Ellsbury was up next and he singled to CF to drive in Sweeney for his 3rd hit of the game to make it 7-2. Phil Coke relieved Schlereth and Dustin Pedroia worked a full count and turned on a fastball for a 3-run HR to LF to blow the game open and give the Red Sox a 10-2 lead as they pushed 5 runs across in the inning. Ryan Raburn connected for a solo HR in the bottom of the 6th to cut the deficit to 10-3. Michael Bowden relieved Buchholz for the 7th inning and allowed a run on a RBI single by Jackson but got Boesch to hit into an inning ending 3-6-1 double play to escape further damage and send the game to the 8th inning with Boston leading 10-4. Collin Balester struck out Ross, Shoppach and Aviles in order in the top of the 8th for a 1-2-3 inning. The Tigers threatened in the bottom of the 8th as they had 2 men on with 2 outs but Matt Albers was able to get Peralta to pop up to end the threat and send the games to the 9th inning. Adrian Gonzalez picked up his 3rd hit of the game as he doubled to drive in Pedroia to mkae it 11-4 in the top of the 9th. The Red Sox turned to their new closer Alfredo Aceves in the non save situation for the bottom of the 9th and he finished it off by getting Austin Jackson to ground into a 4-6-3 double play as the Red Sox win 11-4 to avoid the sweep and pick up the 1st win of the Bobby Valentine era.
* I don't believe that the Red Sox offense in this game was strictly a product of the slider adjustments. The Red Sox batters did a great job of laying off bad pitches and got themselves into many hitters counts and capitalized when they got good pitches to hit.
* The Red Sox improve to 1-2 on the season and will head to Toronto for a 3 game series with the Blue Jays.

Re: TNK - 2012 Realism Sliders Thread
Nice results! I like the slider adjustments, can't way to try these out!! Thanks TNK as always.Comment

Try first spring match with the tribe and i can tell that i won with GAP FINALLY!!!!!
4-1
match really realistic and fun, no homers, only walk.
Now i can see that contact is really, i dunno how to tell, you feel satisfied When you hit the ball.
Love really the fielder speed at 2, more realism and no frustrating unrealistic catch.
Really the best slider of hall.
Thanks TNK.
I repeat, fantastic slidersLast edited by ravellron; 04-11-2012, 06:13 AM.Comment
