    MLB 12 Pitch Speed

I have read a lot of the slider threads here. I have talked to quiet a few slider makers and threads that have broke down what the sliders do. In all the theories and analyst I still yet cant decide on the most realistic pitch speed and would like OS to help.

I did read the MLB 09,10,11 Pitch Speed threads and they did say 5 was the most realsitic as far as from mound to home plate and someone times it with a stopwatch but heres my problem.

I like 5 because it's easy to tell balls and strikes but at times as a batter some of those 93-99 FB look unrealistically slow. But the off speed looks ok but sometimes even the sliders don't break like they should.

As a pitcher using (Broadcast) using pitch speed 5 it just does not look right at all I was using Bud Norris FB is 96 on this game and just does not look right leaving hand going to plate. So I put it on 8 it's better but pitches still look slow going in to home plate from the pitcher.

So im using 10 and it looks almost perfect from the pitchers view but hav noticed some curve ball have this wicked looking movement not like a 12-6 but does some weird animation. So when I am the hitter the 95 and up looks exactly how they should and im not as late as I would think. The problem I am having is as the Hitter it checks swings a lot when im not trying to do that or I just cant manage any offense.

I know plenty will say its the pitch speed and that maybe be the case just trying to figure out what pitch speed is the best or preferred.

What in particular did he say that made you decide that?

In MVP I always maxed out pitch speed. The only reason I don't in The Show is because as a Zone player, I have problems with not moving the PCI in time. The game locks your PCI in place pretty much the instant you press X, and so I find it pretty much impossible to be able to successfully move the PCI, and then swing, all in the 2 seconds you have. The only way to manage this would be to start guessing, and I have no interest in doing that.

Hey Bob thinks for chiming in. Keep in mind I only play online in a online league. When you play online you are forced to use Zone or Pure Analog. I would prefer Timing but since we can't use that online im using Zone with PCI on.

To answer you what he said? What I have known for years is most of these games are programmed and coded with somethings we as gamers can not see but the (DEVS) can and they know they are there. These games are programmed and coded to play to the players "True Ratings". Yes we have a slider options but there's some things coded that do not appear in the slider options or is a part of the game we can no alter.

Anyways my point is most sports games and especially this game is meant to be played on default. People can come up with all there assumptions, tweaks, analyst or theories but at the end of the day it's really about how the game is programmed and meant to be played.

Thinking about ditching the sliders after reading your post man... Well said, I honestly hate breaking open a game and looking for slider sets. Back when I was hooked on MVP, the only thing I would mod is the pitch speed. Which difficulty do you prefer to play on?

I honestly believe the game was probably meant to be played on All Star and this is why I think this.

                  Difficulty:

                  Rookie
                  Veteran

All Star (You notice this is the middle one)
