    Need help - How do you work counts deeper as batter???

    There has to be a good slider setting for this....

    My problem...I have little problem judging balls and strikes....

    But...I keep getting thrown 0-0, 0-1 and 0-2 strikes. Every batter it seems. Either I put them into play or I foul them off but I always wind up 0-1, 0-2, 1-2 almost every batter.

    If I just take them, they're going to be strikes anyway.

    RARELY does the pitcher throw a 0-0 or 0-1 ball. I never ever walk because I might get 10 balls thrown to me all game.

    I've turned down strike frequency and left most of the other sliders for pitching (CPU) high but I still get this.

    I'd love to be able to work counts deep and draw walks but I keep getting one strike after another thrown.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

      Which hitting difficulty level are you on?

              That's the problem for you. At Rookie and Veteran, CPU are rigged (for you) to pitch more early strikes.

              If you really are good at looking at strikes and balls, I think you should be moving on to a higher level than start tweaking sliders.

                          After playing this game for three years on Veteran difficulty with Guess Pitch turned on, I went to All-Star, turned Guess Pitch OFF and changed Hitting View to Catcher Classic and I now average 2-3 walks per game (that's on default sliders; I walk a bit more when I use TKNGM's slider set). Like nomo said, the difficulty level affects how the AI pitches you. Gotta find what works for you, from camera view to sliders, etc.
