    Re: JoeRyan33 HOF Sliders

Hey first of all, great sliders. I really like the way the game plays now. My only problem is that i hit balls in the gaps and down the line and only get singles out of it or end up getting thrown out at second. This isn't with slow guys either. Could you double check the baserunner speed? Should i just raise it one click or would that affect the other sliders? Thanks again for the awesome slider set.

I bumped my base running speed up 2 and seem to be getting good results. I have hit a few stand up doubles so far in the gap but still struggle when hit down the line. I think it may just be the game this year. These sliders are the best so far that I have tried.

Will I need to adjust any other sliders if I bump up baserunning speed? i want the game to play as realistic as possible.

I'm with baserunning at 0 and i got double like a charm, i got a triple yesterday after a miss of centerfielder. If you want the game realistic as possible you have to let it at 0. Joe has timed speed of real match in tv.

Ok I'm going back to 0 then and play a bit more with that. Base runners just seem really slow but I trust Joe because these sliders stand out among the rest.

Man I swear... Joe is a BOSS for these sliders. Anyone else notice how much more important defensive positioning is now? Now that infielders/outfielders don't all have amazing range and balls can be hit over outfielders heads, the whole element of defensive positioning is now a substantial part of games. Before these sliders, I would never even think about positioning. Now every batter I have to make adjustments accordingly. Very nice to see.

I have tried every slider on this forum and these by far play the best. I want to thank everyone else for there hard work on there sliders but these stand out on the realism factor.

Hey I am playing with baserunning speed at 1 and it seems pretty good. I timed a few guys from home to first and they have been from 4.2-4.6 seconds. And the league average is about 4.3. It seems good at 1

I made a couple of changes to the CPU pitching, they were about the zone too much. I've dropped CPU control down to 1 and Strike Freq to 2.

Me to i find perfect strike frequency at 2 but how are you in base on ball in team ranking? Im always last in standing.

Haven't started my franchise yet, but I definitely draw more walks now after this change. I looked at the strike zone chart and was seeing way too many balls in the zone. The CPU never missed by much, was either just off the corner or in. Now they put pitches in more varied locations, makes the ABs more realistic and fun at the same time.

I'm testing with solid hits back up at 3 for user and cpu, just to see how it plays out in hit variety. I found that liners were becoming harder to hit even with good hitters, whether through my good pitching or poor hitting.

joe, with cpu consistency at 5 do you find many wild pitches from cpu?
i'm at 3 and i'm thinking to set it at 2.
im watching many real games on mlb.tv and it seems that wild pitches became really often.

I get a few, but not too many. I noticed a lot of hit batters when it was lowered, seemed like at least one per game which is too much.

I really hate messing with sliders, always feel like there's something to tweak.

I tried clocking hit balls in real games and measuring them against the Show. Seems the default power is about spot on with real times. It just seems so difficult to get a ball over an outfielder's head on default power.

After trying out solid hits at 3 I played a game with the Orioles v Felix Doubront and had not one single groundball. Against a pitcher who gives up 44% groundballs, it seemed off. I wish there was a 2.5 setting.

im keeping solid hit at 3 both but i sustain many ground balls, sometimes a bit more double but im thinking is a script of the game than a sliders settings.
i noticed that sometimes after i score in the same inning if im 1 out the next batter sustains a double out and magically the cpu marks the end, it seems that yeh, you have scored enough, now stop..

about hits, is control the slider to change not consistency.
the thing im really disappointed is BB for human, cpu is really disciplined enough (im using cpu contact 1) and he perform 7-8 bb a game, but me i can't reach more than 2. it seems that if i would be perfectly disciplined i could reach not more than 4 a game, and is to low in ratio of real life.
i want try set consistency at 1 and see what happened..

Oddly, I think there are more line drives when power is at default. I like everything about default power except the ball never gets over an outfielder's head unless you play the outfield shallow. Otherwise, it hangs up when it gets to the wall.

The other issue with default power is that even on balls into the corner, the CPU has a tendency to hold up at 1B on what should be a double.

Rav, as far as drawing walks, you have to work to get in deep counts. Use the contact swing when you're down to 2 strikes.
