I use Analog, and I'm constantly tempted to stop using Analog altogether, because I feel like this black hole thing shows its face with Analog pitching more than any other interface.

And I think it's 1000x more prevalent with breaking balls and offspeed stuff. Instead of bouncing in the dirt for a wild pitch, *poof*, hung curve ball down the middle. I can't really say I've seen too many fastballs forced towards the middle.
The pitch confidence became quickly very low near zero, because the vast majority of pitches were balls (I aimed literally at the corner of the strike zone). The pitcher confidence was still like around the average though... So in effect I wasn't testing if anything would be different when pitcher confidence is very low...

If you are using the Pure Analog pitching interface, I can actually see how a tiny mistake can lead to pitches down the middle; I have the same issue. We did discuss this quite a lot last year when there was a Pure Analog feedback thread. It basically came down to how it is quite difficulty to miss location laterally, since the strike zone in the cone meter is quite wide, and our thumb doesn't make natural movement to the 10 or 2 o'clock positions with the stick when pushing up (tends to go toward the 12 o'clock position)

      Bobhead,

Though I'd like to see a tad more variation between good/bad control pitchers regarding Human controlled pitchers, notice how all of my posts have been centered around the CPU (vs Human and CPU opponents).

Using Classic, my BB's are extremely varied and plentiful. And they seem to definitely suit it's arm (i.e. CC has far less BB's allowed than Hughes, etc). I feel for the guys that don't/won't use this interface. The separation between pitchers is far less noticable (though still noticable) with Pulse/Meter/Analog.

It's the CPU I'm mostly concerned with (keep in mind that Classic is wild enough that I can aim down the middle with CC and hit the corners, or not get burned as bad if it is a meatball vs a guy like Hughes...whom I have to nibble more with, causing misses, big misses, BB's, etc).

I'd gather that if the CPU was tuned differently in this regard, and the other 3 Human interfaces were slightly more wild in general, Human results would mirror the CPU's results more closely (which of course would mean the CPU was programmed to already throw more obvious balls under certain factors to begin with).

The CPU's ratings/results get refined and the Human's results *more than likely* follow suit (in my mind, anyway). Making it a win-win.

In regards to pitches getting sucked towards the center, I have been noticing that pitches that have "Just Late" timing on the meter like to stay towards the middle of the zone. This was me pitching but the next time I play the CPU I am going to check their pitch meter results too!

Awesome! Keep us posted. Generally speaking, was there any rhyme or reason to the just late meatballs (i.e. most of them were aimed above or below where the pitch ultimately ended up)?

I only wish we could see where the CPU actually aimed when they missed dead read...

Many of those pitches for me where aimed towards the lower half and outer edges. The outer edge pitches seem to get sucked in and the lower pitches just stay middle when in fact they should be heading toward the lower half of the zone if not totally below the k zone.

In principle if you put API on, that should indicate where CPU targets. If you aim that with Classic and you should be able to replicate what CPU's doing.
