Game two with the Reds beat the Indians 4-1. They only had two hits with one hr.
I had 12 hits again but no hrs. Not seeing any CPU offense after only playing 2 games.

      TNK - EXHIBITION GAME
BOSTON RED SOX @ BALTIMORE ORIOLES
Pitching Matchup - Jon Lester vs. Miguel Gonzalez

      * Nolan Reimold took Jon Lester's 1st pitch of the game deep in the bottom of the 1st inning for a solo HR to give Baltimore an early 1-0 lead. The Orioles would add another run in the top of the 2nd as Chris Davis scored on a sac fly by Manny Machado and the Orioles had a 2-0 lead after two innings.

      * Mike Napoli got the Red Sox on the board with a 420 foot bomb for a solo HR into the rear bullpen in left centerfield to cut the Orioles lead to 2-1.

      * Jon Lester was not sharp at all and Brian Roberts took him deep in the bottom of the 5th for a 2-run HR to increase the Orioles lead to 4-1. Miguel Gonzalez was throwing a lot of pitches as the Sox did a great job of working counts, but they weren't getting the offense to show for it as the Red Sox trailed 4-1 after 5 innings.

      * Darren O'Day relieved Gonzalez for the top of the 8th and the Red Sox were threatening with two men on and two outs in the inning. O'Day got out of the jam by getting Dustin Pedroia to ground out to end the inning and keep the score 4-1.

      * Baltimore had runners at the corners with 1 out in the bottom of the 8th against Andrew Miller and Chris Davis laced an RBI single into RF to make it 5-1. Andrew Bailey replaced Miller on the mound and got Wilson Betemit to hit into an inning ending 4-6-3 double play to send the game to the 9th with Boston trailing 5-1.

      * Baltimore closer Jim Johnson came on for the top of the 9th in the non save situation and pitched around a single by Middlebrooks to finish the Red Sox off as the Orioles win 5-1

Could just be a stretch where you are pitching good or the CPU is just cold offensively......try not to read too much into just 2 games.

I just got knocked around by Baltimore with my ace on the mound. Gonna play a game now at Oakland with both teams #3 starters and I'm gonna put a couple of my bench guys in the lineup (Ross at C and Ciriaco at SS) against lefty Tom Milone.

EDIT - Milone just issued a 4 pitch walk to Ellsbury to leadoff the game and Victorino doubled so it looks like I'm in business to begin the game

EDIT - had the bases loaded with 0 outs and Ortiz hit into a 1-2-3 double play and then Napoli popped out and I didn't even get a run. First time this year that the game actually got me pissed off....ugh

Re: TNK - 2013 REALISM SLIDERS

Just played a game using analog pitching (after getting frustrated with pulse) and the results were muuuuuch better. Braves (me) vs Astros.

Until both starters came out it was a 1-0 game for me both teams having 5 hits. Both starter ended up 6 innings pitched, 5 Ks, 1 walk a piece. Only difference was I managed to capitalize on what little early offense we had.

Once the relievers came in things opened up a bit. I started walking a good bit of people (think I walked 1 a piece with martinez, avilan, and venters). Was able to get out of the jams though and put up some insurance runs vs a sub-par Astros bullpen.

          Final score 5-1.

Might try out meter pitching to get the true experience later. Analog I seem to get a lot of pitches going up in the zone which vs a better team would likely get me killed.

Re: TNK - 2013 REALISM SLIDERS

Just played a really good game, it was a battle.
I lost as the Twins at home vs the Blue Jays 5-3. Both teams had 10 hits, Bautista took me deep twice. They hit 3 hrs and I hit one in the 9th with a PH. This was the funniest ga,e I have played yet! I fell down 4-0 early and battled back to cut it to 4-2 late. They really roughed up my SP as he allowed 4 runs in the first 2 innings. My bullpen was great and didn't allow a run again until the 8th. I was down 5-2 heading to the bottom of the 9th. I led off with a PH hr and then loaded the bases with 2 outs. Mauer hit a shot to the gap that Rasmus made an outstanding diving catch on the end the game. If the ball would have fell I would have won.

                TNK - EXHIBITION GAME
BOSTON RED SOX @ OAKLAND A'S
Pitching Matchup - Ryan Dempster vs. Tom Milone

                * Tom Milone walked Jacoby Ellsbury on 4 pitches to leadoff the game and Shane Victorino followed with a double down the LF line to setup runners at 2nd & 3rd with nobody out as the Red Sox look to strike early. Dustin Pedroia drew a walk to load the bases. David Ortiz was up next and he bounced back to Milone who came home to start a 1-2-3 double play. Milone escaped the inning without allowing a run as he got Mike napoli to pop out to end the inning as the Red Sox blow a bases loaded nobody out opportunity......JESUS!!! I wanted to throw the damn controller!! The A's stranded Crisp at 3rd base in the bottom of the 1st and the score remained 0-0

                * Boston had runners at the corners with 1 out in the top of the 2nd when Ciriaco hit a grounder to 3rd for what should been an inning ending double play but Donaldson's throw pulled Sizemore off the bag at 2nd and everyone was safe as Gomes came in to score and give the Sox a 1-0 lead. Ellsbury followed with a bunt single to load the bases for Victorino and he would pop up for the 2nd out. Pedroia was up next and he flew out as Crisp made a good running catch in shallow CF as the Sox leave the bases loaded and Milone wiggles out of danger again. The Red Sox have stranded a small village on the bases in the 1st two innings.

                * Oakland stranded two men in scoring position in the bottom of the 2nd as Dempster got Sizemore to ground out to Middlebrooks to end the inning. Both Milon and Dempster are flirting with disaster early in this game.

                * Mike Napoli stroked a solo HR 427 feet to straight away CF in the top of the 3rd to make it 2-0 game.

                * Dempster walked Crisp to leadoff the bottom of the 3rd and Jed Lowrie followed with a 2-run HR as he stayed back on a slider and went opposite way to LF to tie the game at 2-2. Mike Napoli left the game when he was injured diving for a foul ball and he was replaced by Daniel Nava at 1st base. Oakland stranded two more runners in scoring position as Dempster got out of the inning and the score was 2-2 after 3 innings of play.

                * The A's took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the 4th on a sac fly by Lowrie. The Red Sox executed a perfect pitch out to catch Crisp stealing to end the inning.

                * Milone settled down and got through the top of the 6th with a 1-2-3 inning. Junichi Tazawa relieved Dempster for the bottom of the 6th and the game would go to the 7th with the A's leading 3-2.

                * Pedro Ciriaco singled with 1 out in the top of the 7th and that would end the day for Milone as he was replaced by Jerry Blevins who got Ellsbury to hit into a 4-6-3 double play to end the inning.

                * The A's blew the game open against Tazawa in the 7th as Cespedes and Reddick hit back to back singles to start the inning and Brandon Moss crushed a 3-run HR to RF to make it 6-2.

                * The Red Sox went quietly in the 9th as the A's win this one by a score of 6-2

                * It was late and I got impatient at the plate as the game went on.

                * GOOD NEWS - the CPU is scoring on me and I'm not just mowing people down on the mound.

                * BAD NEWS - I've been hitting poorly the past few games.

                * GOOD NEWS - Nothing is too out of whack where it needs adjusting right now and the games are playing out well and feel right.

Excellent job on the sliders...but even better job on the camera angle. The camera angle really helped me pick up pitches better and in turn has helped my hitting. It's like night and day compared to the "Catcher" camera I was using. These sliders also work well on classic pitching (I prefer this over meter). Thanks!

Just had a slug festival as the Dodgers at the Giants. I won 9-5 hitting 3 hrs and 14 hits . I broke it open in the 8th scoring 5 runs. The Giants had 9 hits and 2 hrs. Really good fun game.

Ugh, my Astros just dropped a 6-5 decision in 10 to the Jays. Back and forth game with errors galore. Brian Wilson blew the save giving up a run in the 9th. A lot of hits 16-14 respectively with only one long ball on the day. Loving the way these sliders are playing since lat game I could barely eek out 5 hits.

If I moved the difficulty from All-Star to Hall of Fame, how would that affect the gameplay if I left all the sliders the same? In my RTTS I am batting over .400 and would like it to be more of a challenge. Any help is much appreciated.

This an amazing set of sliders. Experiencing great variety in my games.

I've tried that and I hit horribly. Like .120 horribly. It was with a shortstop and they seem to be the worst hitters starting out, but still, it was bad.

Do you know about the first pitch meatball bug and calling timeout by hitting down on the D-pad before the first pitch is thrown (after the pitch selection in the lower right greys out)? The bug causes the first pitch to be a FB right down the middle which really inflates batting averages if you swing at the first pitch all the time.

Only downside I've seen to the sliders so far is with fielding. I feel like my infielders have way too many errors, and also I'm 21 games into my season and there hasn't been a single diving catch. Seems like the fielder speed is a touch too fast.
