    Re: Armor & Swords/Marino's - MLB The Show 13 Timed/Classic Sim Sliders

This slider set has been awesome, but there are two areas where I haven't seen enough parody.

    1. Not enough EBH's, especially long doubles and stand up triples that can trickle to the corner. Even after altering the fielder speed and reactions, they still make their way to most balls in the deep part of the outfield. If I lowered the slider any more, they become brain dead.

    2. Flair 'no man's land' singles to short outfield. Those balls that are "hit where they ain't" really haven't happened much in my game.

    Any ideas?

I don't know why you have not seen them. I get them. Flair's, bloops, corner triples, gap doubles.

How many games have you played? I have no suggestions because I see it all with these settings

Just had a great one with the non hybrid set. I went back to them after I was getting 10-15 hits a game with the hybrids.

          2-1 win in 11 innings

          Yankees - 2-7-1
          Royals - 1-4-0

Got a single from Cervelli with the infield in to win it.

          Pettitte - 8.1ip 3h 1er 0bb 7ks
          James Shields - 7ip 2h 0er 5bb 8ks

          Awesome stuff!

Hmm yeah, I have these sliders EXACTLY as you suggest. I have played at LEAST 35 games or so.

Again...I have no answer. Wish I did but I am getting a nice hit variety.

CPU Strike Frequency has been raised to 3. I am still drawing walks....the cpu still does not pound the zone all game (of course stud pitchers are far more consistent though) but less hit batsman and wild pitches which were too frequent.

Also if you want to raise cpu contact and power to default....by all means. Do it if you really are not seeing enough cpu offense after 2 dozen games.

I have been...but everyone is different I guess.

I play on legend difficulty for both hitting and pitching, with 10 pitch speed. I'm just wondering, should I kick my difficulty down a couple notches with these sliders, or does it really matter?

Had a huge offense explosion in my first game of my orioles franchise using these. I ended up winning 19-2 and I had 23 hits. I ended up hitting three home runs and seven doubles. I have honestly no clue what happened in this game as the most I've ever scored in a game using these sliders before was 8. Guess this was just a huge fluke... I am using the hybrid sliders

A&S and Marino, great sliders guys, thank you. I have been testing these for about 20 games with All Star Hitting and Pitching with the Pirates. I am hitting okay, but my pitching is bad. The biggest thing is I am giving up too many hits (11/gm) extra base hits seem good and I walk about 2.5 batters a game. I was wondering what I could change to help the CPU get less hits? Lower CPU Contact to 4? or should I just drop down to Veteran for Pitching and leave the sliders the same? Thanks for the help.

tree how is your ERA so far?
11 hits a game doesn't sound too horrible. At least not enough to change difficulty levels.

Boy. I wouldn't drop an entire level if you like all but one of your team stats.

Could you post your stats and the teams you've faced so far?

Sorry I forgot to post ERA. It is 4.60, They always get hits at the right time seems like. 11 hits to me seems high coupled with the 2.5 walks I give up. I guess the bottom line is I am not winning, lol. And my pitching seems to be the biggest reason. Hitting is good for me I am getting 1.5 HRs a game, 8 hits/gm (maybe a little low), 3 BB/gm. My strikeouts are high though like 11/gm. Maybe I am looking at it all wrong and its my hitting. Should I bump down to the veteran hitting hybrid set?

I cant remember the exact teams I have played, but I try to balance it out with great, avg, and poor teams. I started a 29 games season to continue testing.

With 1.5 HR's a game, I couldn't justify telling you to drop the hitting either.

Dropping the Pitch Speed a click will help with your strikeouts. What's your team BA?

On the pitching side, it's tough. Man, the Pirates are not good material for nailing down a slider set. Lots of good players on both sides of the ball, but a lot of guys who's strengths are in one area (power guys with low contact, decent H/9 pitchers with low K ratings and vice versa, etc...if I recall correctly).

Could you just post all of your stats when the 29 game season is done? You're almost there, and then the slider guys can guide you so you can finish up tweaking and start your real Franchise.

I actually dropped down to veteran hitting with the hybrid sliders as I was getting frustrated on allstar. After getting a good feel for timing I have since moved back to the original allstar hitting sliders and the results have been great. I like allstar for hitting just because I feel the CPU pitcher approach is a little more realistic. On veteran there were too many mistake pitches left right over the plate. Walk totals on allstar seem better too as on veteran the CPU pitcher would just give in too much.
But I wold say try dropping down just until you figure out timing, then move back up. And remember this is coming from someone who has never hit well in this game so if I'm actually hitting there's hope for anyone.
