After only getting the game yesterday, I've started a test season with the Rangers while I await the OSFM Roster and the first patch. It's taking some time to get used to the new timing window, but here is a run-down of my opening series with Houston.

After three games, I am: 2-1 with .232AVG, .267OBP, .333SLG and 3.26ERA.

GAME 1: TEX 2, HOU 1 - A pitchers duel. I broke through against Norris in the 7th with a two-run shot from Moreland. I had 8 hits, 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. Darvish was dominant over 6.2 innings, giving up 4 hits and striking out 11. Houston's only run came from an RBI double off Feliz in the 8th.

GAME 2: TEX 2, HOU 7 - Bedard embarrassed me through 7.0 innings, giving up 3 hits, 1 run, 1 walk and 9 strikeouts. I ended the game with 5 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks and 11 strikeouts. Holland struggled through 3 innings and fell apart in the 4th. He finished with 3 hits, 6 runs, 3 walks, 3 strikeouts and 1 hit batter in 3.2 innings.

GAME 3: TEX 5, HOU 2 - Harrison through a complete game victory with 8 hits, 2 runs and 5 strikeouts. I totaled 10 hits against four Houston pitchers, but failed to draw a walk and struck out 9 times.

Despite the strikeouts, I am starting to feel more comfortable with the game and look forward to a home series against the Angels who are 1-2 after a series against Cincinnati. This slider set has played great so far, thumps-up to Armor & Sword and Marino.

Have you guys tried the zoom camera angles? I just started using the first zoom camera, catcher zoom I believe, and I have to say that this may be my new favorite camera. I see high and low pitches a lot easier as well as outside and inside pitches. The camera is focused right in the center of the strike zone which will be right in the middle of your tv and I can see pitches a lot easier. Give it a shot. I may have to lower pitch speed from my current setting of 8 being that it seems pitches get to you a lot quicker with this view though I am still early on a lot of pitches.

Best sliders this year by far. I never realized how much fun the games could be with Auto fielding. Finally player fielding ratings actually matter!

LOL i was thinking the same thing last night, and with Broadcast view on fielding its a nice touch...sliders are very good for my style of play, Awesome Set and Thanks, have to get used to pitching without the meter though.

I am still struggling for offense in my Rangers test season. I salvaged a single victory against the Angels in my last three-game series thanks to Darvish, who I am dominating with. After six games my record is 3-3, but I am ranked last in the MLB in most offensive categories.

In 190 at-bats, I am hitting with a .200AVG, .256OBP, .295SLG. I have 13BB (ranked 24th) and 40SO (ranked 26th). I am thinking of increasing pitch speed before my next series against Tampa Bay in hope that it improves my timing.

Any recommendations on pitch speed? I played with the Hybrid set last year and the game played beautifully.

so i'm new to the show but played 2k12 for 360 u think these would be good to start out with or should i go to a lower level

Personally I think there a good start, you may have to lower pitch speed if you cant react quick enough but I think there damn near perfect also be patient with pitch selection and draw some walks.

I notice a lot with these sliders that the CPU pitcher tends to throw his first pitch straight down the plate almost 99% of the time, and every time theres a new pitcher on the mound too? Anyway to adjust these?

I think it might be a bug waiting for a patch. I call timeout before the first pitch to every batter. Seems to work.

Dude. Nothing personal. But I have seen plenty of first pitch balls.

I know there is a huge thread on the first pitch meatball.

If you want. Make sure after the CPU pitcher selects his pitch (1st inning only) (you will see his pitch selection grayed out) press down on your D-pad to call time.

And anytime a new pitcher enters the game do the same.

Agan though.....I have seen first pitch balls from the starter in the 1st inning and relievers first pitches.

If it is indeed an issue...it will be patched. My advice....stay out of the bugs thread. This game is amazing.

Are there going to be some blemishes? Always...every game, every year, every sport.

I actually did some testing on that. For season/franchise games (probably Postseason and Play Now, as well, but I didn't test that) the first pitch meatball bug only happens on the first pitch of an inning, or the first pitch a reliever throws after entering the game. Other batters are unaffected. Which is probably why the RTTS players notice it more, since every AB for them has the first CPU pitch of the inning.

More on-topic, I'm loving the sliders. The results have been varied and realistic, and I really appreciate the work you guys put into the set.

Yep. Again...I have seen first pitch balls. Absolutely have seen them.

Let's make sure we do not discuss possible bugs in this slider thread. If anyone is noticing a bug...keep it in the bug thread.

This thread is for discussing the gameplay itself (not bugs and glitches), how results are going and the pure joy and enjoyment of the best sports game ever made, for any system.

Hands down.

For the 1st time ever I decided to go with a slider set from here as is. I started a dummy Season to test the sliders because games tend to feel or play different in Season/Chise opposed to Play Now games.

After 10 games in with the Dodgers the one stat that stands out is Team at Bats.

I am over 100 bats behind the league team leader in at bats (that seems like alot). We are 10th in team batting average and of course dead last in walks. I am also 1st in team strikeouts (meaning we have the least as a team as far as hitting goes).

Besides patience, I am trying to figure out how i could have more than 100 less at bats after 10 games.

Other than that this is the best Baseball game I have ever played without a doubt. I will finish a season for the 1st time. Excellent sliders by the way and any thoughts or suggestions are welcomed.
I am more than aware that alot of issues in games are user error and hopefully someone can help me correct my errors.

Just swing at the first pitch, that's what I do. On another note I just had a first in my experiences with this game. I was playing with the Braves vs the Dodgers in the NLDS and the game was a pitchers duel all the way till the bottom of the ninth when a reliever comes in for the Dodgers and with runners on the corners with one out I see their pitcher throw a wild pitch that goes half way to the back stop and I see BJ Upton make a break for home, I am using auto base running, and I say to myself "ah crap this is going to be close" and I see Upton make a head first slide around the catcher for the game winning run! I've never seen as game end on a wild pitch and thank god I had BJ at third. I'm loving these sliders!

PS Has anyone tried catcher zoom yet?

I haven't tried that... But I'm using G'Mo's camera from 2012 and it works beautifully!!
