    Awesome work.

I'd like to run some more tests myself, but it definitely looks like 10 might be the magic number.

I love injuries and I love the idea of jacking it all the way to 10; I really like being forced to pay attention to and utilize the entire farm system.

But man, losing a superstar can be really lame. I lost Prince Fielder and Victor Martinez for 2-3 months each in back-to-back games. When you play every game, that's just .... cruel. Thank god it's just a "test" 'chise.

I had to acquire these numbers for OOTP baseball a couple of years back, and it's shocking how many injuries there are. Counting DTD injuries there were over 1000 in 2011. I'll get the exact breakdown and post it in a bit. OK here goes, during the 2011 season there were:

1340 injuries reported or an average of 44.6 per team

504 of those resulted in a DL stint, either 15 or 60 day. So going by those numbers(which are pretty consistent over the past several years) you should expect to see each team average 44.6 injuries per season, of those, roughly 16.8 of them should result in a DL stint.

perfect! With Injury Frequency 10 as you can see above I had 12 DL stints and 43! total injuries. Can't beat it. Are those stats just from the regular season or does that include the post season?

thanks for all you have done. I think I will set mine to 8 when I play. I think there are less injuries in-game vs simmed game, no matter what the injury slider is.

Yeah i've been playing games with it on 7 and loading another saved slider with it at 10 for simming.

I suppose theoretically you should see about 1.5 to 2 injuries during gameplay for your team if you played a weeks worth of games (6 games).

If there are 6 months of baseball (April to September) multiply by 30 = about 180 days, divide by 7 = 26 weeks. If there are 45 injuries per team in a season that averages to about 1.7 injuries per week. I'm going to play games with it at 8 and see how many injuries I average every 6 games.

Everything is regular season data, here's more from I think 2007 that should also really help.

                2007 total injuries 1353

                877 lasting from 1 to 14 days
                391 lasting from 15 to 90 days
                85 were > 90 days

-keep in mind however illness and the like account for roughly 200 of these, nearly all of them in the 1 to 14 day range.

                Here's some more recent data:

2012: 486 trips to the DL, 446 of those 15 day, 30 of those 60 day, 10 of those to the 7 day

2011: 504 trips to the DL, 465 of those 15 day, 32 of those 60 day, 7 of those 7 day.

Taking all of this into consideration I would say that in order for the game to model injuries(minus illnesses) correctly, each team should suffer on average:

36 injuries per season(DTD injuries have dropped since 2007, but I do not have hard data, this should be very close though)

Of those 36, 16.5 should be disabled list type injuries, with one of those being a 60 day DL stint.

Re: Good setting for simmed injuries??

What is the best setting for the Injury Slider for games that we play as human vs cpu. I know that 10 is best for simulated games, so is it correct to say that 9 or 10 is the most realistic setting for the injury slider when we are playing a game?

                  Thanks and Happy Easter

How is 8 looking for the injury slider?

I played one game and I had one injury.

I am guessing that nine or ten is probably the closest.

Simming with the Injury Slider on 10 will give you more Injuries then if you are Playing a human vs cpu game with the Injury Slider on 10.

                    That is my opinion.

10 is the most realistic for sim injuries.

I stated this two posts up-- > I suppose theoretically you should see about 1.5 to 2 injuries during gameplay for your team if you played a weeks worth of games (6 games).

I havent played enough to test. You should have 1.5 to 2 injuries every 6 games.. 3 injuries every 12 games. I do not know what the number to achieve that is but im leaving it on 10 for both simmed and user vs CPU games right now

I'll get my franchise started sometime today, depending on the new rosters, once rolling I will absolutely be tracking injuries for my team as well as league wide. I'm planning on starting with the slider at 7 in game and 10 during simmed games, just as Brian has suggested. Results of course will follow.
