    Best Sliders

New to the Operation Sports but I have been reading over the posts for a few weeks now. Anywho does anyone have any suggestions on who has the best sliders for the show?

    Thanks!

Have you played the game yet?

If so, what sort of areas do you feel need addressing?

I always "preach" people creating their own, based in their playstyle and ability; using the slider forum to get advice from slider makers on what tweaks can help them get the type of results they are looking for.

I also recommend you have some personal stats handy too so any oddities that may exist can be isolated. Honestly, the more numbers the better.

The best thing you can take away from someone else's sliders is the "General Sliders" (Errors, Run Speed, Reaction, etc.)

Like stated above, it's best to create your own sliders depending on your play style and personal skill level. That being said, seeing how other people near your skill set adjust their sliders you can use that as a starting point / template for your own sliders and that is what I suggest.

SCEA's sliders are my personal favorite.

Well what if you find hitting to be a bit too easy on the mode you are on and want to make it more difficult, but you're not ready to make the jump to a higher difficulty? The best option would be to decrease the Contact slider or other hitting sliders, and same thing if you find hitting a bit too challenging and need to increase some hitting sliders to even it out without lowering the overall difficulty.
I guess the same goes for pitching as well... for me personally I have to have both control and consistency at 0 on Legend, if I left it at default I would never walk anyone and be throwing shut outs all day.

            Re: Best Sliders

I'm not gonna sit here and tell anyone to use my sliders......but read some of the slider threads (especially the more active ones as those will have the most people using them which means they are likely the best sets)

There are a bunch of good slider sets on this site

            Try mine out (TNK)
Try PsychoBulk sliders (he always has a good set)
Try another set or two if you want

Make sure you use each set for a few games.....or if you find one you are enjoying - stick with it for 5 to 10 games and don't be afraid to make subtle changes to suit your play style. BUT - never make more than 1 or 2 changes at a time and try to only adjust 1 click at a time as you don't want to throw things out of whack. AND DON'T ABANDON A SET AFTER 1 GAME - THAT ONE GAME COULD BE A COMPLETE ANAMOLY

I can't stress enough - read the threads!!! You will see what others are experiencing with that set and you'll figure out what is right for you.

Myself - I like to post box scores in my thread so you can see the types of games and the variety that I am getting with my set. Even if a set plays well - YOU DON'T WANT EVERY GAME TO BE ALMOST THE SAME AND FEEL LIKE IT'S SCRIPTED.......VARIETY IS HUGE!!!

            Good luck

Thanks - I appreciate that......but there is a best set for everyone out there

Sometimes it's mine, sometimes it's someone else set

Like I said - best advice for anybody is to try out the most active ones on here as those can be viewed as technically being "the best ones" and figure out which one works for you.

Works for you doesn't necessarily mean that you are winning either......you want the game to flow and feel right (speed in the field, throws, etc.)....not necessarily just HR and Runs.....you want to get K's, walks, foul balls, high pitch counts, 10 pitch battles, errors, high intensity situations, blown saves, gems from a starter, you also want your starter to get racked from time to time....you want to have games that are blow outs, games that are snoozefests, games that are so intense that your hearts pounding, etc......that's when you know you found your set

                  Re: Best Sliders

I used PsychoBulk's for a base set myself, read pretty much all the threads on the slider board, took some things people learned and applied it to my own tweaking, I have to tweak a bit as I am not as good at the game as others, found out that a maxed out or near maxed out wind slider seems to be the right thing, messed with the pitch speed quite a bit until I found that it feels right, and then I switched about between the various pitching modes, mainly classic v pulse, for me hitting on timed is the only option, but pitching is something that I always had issues getting to feel right for me, but something has changed in this version, and I now feel comfortable with pulse pitching.
I will see you at THE SHOW!!

I tried all the main ones but I settled on armor & sword with some tweaks.

I think everyone--by definition really--think their slider set is the "best." I say that because if anyone found someone else had a better slider setting, they would very likely incorporate it into their own sets. I think all people here want the most accurate looking and simming games, so part of it is in eye of the beholder as well as in the skill level of the user.

So I also would suggest a fair amount of trial and error to see what works for you and what looks right to you. Play at least a few games with each slider change to allow you to see a variety of plays and situations so you can see what you think looks right. Stay open to others ideas and suggestions as you go along.
