    In-Game Injuries

I'm 35 games into my Braves Franchise and have only seen one injury (it so happened to be to the CPU pitcher in a game I eventually go no-hit during).

    None for me.

Does anyone have an opinion on the Default Injury slider (for in-game purposes) and is going this long without seeing one completely unrealistic? Meaning, does what I'm seeing ever happen in real life MLB?

Mine is at the default and I've seen one injury in the 15 games I've played of my franchise. Sore shoulder on Evan Gattis, made him day-to-day missing about 4 games. Only one I've seen so far.

    - Auburn Tigers - Nashville Predators

      Thanks.

I guess in order to know what I SHOULD be seeing, I'd have to know how diverse injuries are at the MLB level in real life...

I have no idea if some teams actually ever start the season only seeing the amount you and I have.

      I guess this is a two-part thread.

Now that you mention it, I don't believe the (real-life) Mets have seen a single injury since opening day.

So I guess it definitely is possible.

I actually have my injury slider below default lol but that's more personal preference, as I find all the random "I'm a pitcher and I just hurt myself inexplicably" events kind of annoying.

I would like to see more position players getting hurt, but I'll take the tradeoff.

My opinion last year was exactly yours. When I did get injured, it was almost always my pitcher, mid-game. Very rarely was it a position player until I upped the slider. And then, it happened to so many of my pitchers during such a small amount of time that I ended up turning it back to Default and/or uninjuring guys (I did both during different stretches).

I cannot give an opinion this year, though. As you can see I still haven't seen any (other than to a CPU...pitcher).

          LOL on the Mets comment.

I wouldn't say it's too uncommon to see that little of injuries for the beginning of the year. However, I doubt the game takes into account the grind of a full MLB season and in a real MLB season, you will see injuries much more often in August/September.

The majority of injuries this time of year seem to be more minor (sprained ankles, soreness, stiffness.

I would probably bump up the slider 1 notch and see how that goes. Me personally I am going to play with injuries off and manual injure players throughout the year based on the real life season.

              Im seeing alot of injuries.

I just lost my first basemen after he stretched out to catch the ball from a throw from my second basemen. I threw the ball weakly and a bit off line he stretched out, and now he's injured. I believe it said out indefinitely.

Ive seen pitchers get hit in the ankle, and have to come out.
and have had several nagging issue type injuries.

For complete realism, I would say this:

                Simmed games -- 8

                Played Games -- 9

what are these numbers based on? Experience or guess?

I have my injuries' slider at 7 for playing in franchise and in 30 games have seen maybe 5 injuries- all pretty minor injuries as well. Not sure if this slider also effects the severity of the injury.

I'm about 45 games into my franchise and i think i may have seen one day to day injury at the MLB level, but i've seen multiple updates about injuries to players at the AAA and AA levels. I use TNK's sliders with it set at the default 5. Though i still don't think i see enough injuries from pitchers taking line drives off their chest, but that's an argument for another thread!

A Lot of testing. Actually, 10 is probably most realistic.

you can always manually injure the pitcher.

i would set the slider to 8 if you want a realistic amounts of injuries, which represents about 75% of real MLB injuries. you will see many day-to-day injuries, and some long injuries also.

I feel like 8 is too much but I may go up a click to 6 and see what that returns.

I've only played about 15 games with Philadelphia, and I've seen more injuries than I want to. Domonic Brown legged out a triple in in my 5th and pulled up lame after sliding in Safe at third. Roy Halliday shook his arm after striking out the side in the third inning of a game and had to be replaced, and Ben Revere went on the DL after running into the wall, making a catch in Center.
