I split the first series of the Season 2-2... I think this is the best pitching for me ever lol my pitching is good and is the CPU. I also like their hitting so far, my hitting I only had problem with to much weak contact, what do you think man? But also it was just the first Series of the Season.

But the best part is I lead the Majors with 28 Total Walks!!
Dude, are you using the sliders with Quick Counts? I still have a hard time drawing walks, but again, that greatly depends on user skill. I've been steadily getting better, though. Now I'm averaging 2-3 walks per game, as opposed to 1-2. Moving in the right direction.

If you're not using Quick Counts, you have DRASTICALLY improved your approach at the plate! Congrats!

Re: Itbeme23 Sim Sliders - Veteran Hitting/A.S. Classic Pitching & OCD Accurate Strik

I wanted to check in with you guys to let you know that I appreciate the guys who are giving these a shot! I worked hard on them for the better part of the last six weeks, and I'm glad a few people seem to be enjoying them as much as I am. I know I said I was going to have a huge stat update from my testing, but unfortunately, some pretty serious family issues came which hasn't allowed me to post that much over the last few days. Thankfully, those issues seem to be resolving themselves now, and I hope to maybe get a "stress relief" game in tonight, if I have the energy for it. That stat update is still coming. I'm about 80% done with the stat calculations.

Stay tuned for that before the week is over!

      Cheers!

I havent used the quick counts since the first time I tried a Franchise, this is all QC Off. Ill post games from the 2nd series of the year up against the D'Backs.

I think Im averaging 4-6 Walks a game. This is the best Ive ever been at the plate. Except with hit and run production, but that will probably start gettin better.

Another great game to complete the sweep against the Angles. I think it had to be a mental block as being a Braves fan that had me not hitting at all, but this only a 3 game series so far. I will continue to play and post to see what happens. Going against Oakland next so we will see how it goes.

            10 Hits/62 At-Bats = .161 BA

            Recap:

This was probably the strangest games I've ever played in The Show. It's definitely one of the longest (I think I've had one other game in the five years I've been playing that went longer than 17 innings). The Dodgers were leading the game 1-0 going into the 7th inning, but a very costly baserunning error cost them an insurance run. However, the game still would've went into extra innings, as Hunter Pence gave the Giants the lead in the bottom of the 7th with a two-run home run. The Dodgers would jump all over Romo in the ninth to tie the game at 2. And that's how it would stay until the top of the 17TH INNING!!! Hanley Ramirez would lead off with a double, followed by a walk by Adrian Gonzalez (7 walks in one game is my all-time high, by the way ). Yasiel Puig would lace a first pitch fastball down the left field line to finally bring in the go-ahead run. Madison Bumgarner (yes, the Giants brought him in because they emptied their bullpen) would escape the jam by only allowing the lone run. The Dodgers would go into the bottom of the inning with the 3-2 lead. They would bring in Kenley Jansen for the save, and he would retire the side in order.

What a crazy way to win a game!!! The variety in this game never ceases to amaze me.

That is crazy, man!!! Remember this time last year, I was trying to coach you on being more patient at the plate? You seemed to have gotten that down, because now you're drawing more walks per game than I am! Nice work!

As far as your offense, stick with it. I'm haven't gotten the offensive production that I expected in the first 15 games of my franchise. A lot of it has to do with the fact that I've played against really good pitching teams (particularly the Giants). Like the saying goes, "good pitching will always beat good hitting". I'm sure it's not a slider issue, because once I calculated the averages during my testing phase, my batting average was about .270, and my runs per game were around ~4.5. It's just a matter of getting in a groove again. It seemed like my whole team started off hot for the first five games of the season, but now I'm starting to get into a little bit of a slump, especially with Uribe and Ethier. Uribe is well under the Mendoza Line, and Ethier is hitting (if you want to even call it that) a PAINFUL .075. I'm hoping once I start playing teams outside the NL West, my offense will begin to pick up.

I'll be curious to see if your offense continues at the pace that you're currently at. The Angels aren't that great of a pitching team, so it's not a surprise that you were able to rough them up a bit. Oakland has a better staff overall, so let's see if your stats come back down to earth. I'll be waiting for stats.

                Good luck!

                  One last thing.....

For those of you guys using the sliders in Franchise mode, where is your team ranked as far as errors??? I'm trying to decide if there are a bit too many errors in games being played. My Dodgers are ranked in the bottom five in MLB in errors committed. I'm trying to figure out if that's just a "me" thing, or if it is happening with everybody else.

If it is just a "me" thing, then that's pretty realistic, considering that the Dodgers have been one of the worst defensive teams in the NL up to this point.

So there I was with confidence flying really. I was smoking the ball everywhere, then, I ran into the A's. Chavez just dominated me all game long. Pounding with first pitch strike inning after inning. Thought I had the A's right where I wanted until the 7th. Then all he'll broke loose. Donaldson burned me for a three run homer and it snowballed. Learning really quick why the A's are the defending West champs. Man I am really staring to get a great idea of these sliders....."these slider are the bomb". I am sticking with your stuff and going all season. Now on to game two of the series.

P.s. I blame you for jinxing me on hitting. I can't blame myself cause that would be to easy. Lol

About the errors so far seeing right amount. 2 errors in 4 games but we will see as we continue on.

Man, oh Man.....You are right on. The A's pitching have my number. I have dropped two in a row now. This was a pitchers game from the get go. Then in the last post talked about errors, I ended up with 2 in this game: (1) bounced off Seager's glove and was unable to throw out the runner, (2) Hard hit to second and went right through Cano's legs.

Like I said this A's Pitching staff is no joke they are wreaking me. Well I hope to pick up the last 2 game of the 4 game series to end up in a split or I am going to be hurting early.

HAHAHAH. Finally my offense gets back on track once again. It only took roughing up the A's Ace Sonny Gray, but it was worth it. Jumped out to an early 3 run lead going into the botton of the 4th. Then the A's Offense woke up. They had 3 straight doubles( Callaspo, Donaldson, Moss). I was like "OH S@%#". Well Young is not going to last that long. Started warming up a pitch. The Young got Cespedes to strike out looking, Riddeick singled runners on the corners. Finally Jaso comes up and got him to hit into the pitchers best friend. Thats right 1-6-3 Double play.....Got to admit i was sweating out there. Game goes cruising along until the Top of 8 and Seattle was able to open up with 2 more runs. Finally Rodney once again comes in a slams the door shut on the A's. Another great game!

Errors: Got one from Saunders who missed played a single from Fuld and they charged with the error. I can tell we were playing in Oakland on that call. But so far 5 errors through 6 games. After a week of playing I am T-25 the leaders are Atlanta with 6 and the Diamondbacks with 8.

I didn't get game 7 stats due to my 3 and 2 year old were screaming around the house instead of taking theirs naps, But I did here in game 8. Once again the Angles hit the steam roller that is the Mariners. The Angles jumped out to a quick 2 run lead with a Home Run from Trout in the First and a base hit from Kendrick in the 3rd. I was able to score 2 in the bottome of the 4th and we stayed that way until the 6th inning when I was finally able to get to Santiago. Took the lead with a Zunino double that scored Romero, who was on second after a single and wild throw for a pick off from Santiago. Salas came in to relief the sitiuation but instead he game up a 2 run blast to Miller on a hanging change up.

Once again the Mariners are just rolling through the Angle that is now 4-0 on the season. Man I am loving this.

Errors: 2 by the Angles. (1) D. Freeze bobbled a bouncing ground ball to third. (2) H. Santiago over throw on the pick off move.

Wow...Simply Wow!! I jumped out to a huge 5 run lead by the 4th inning and then finally the Angles's monster offense woke up from their nap. They scored 3 in the 4th and 1 in the 7th. Get to the top of the 8th I bring in Farquhar to set up for Rodney but well I have a different story to write. Farquhar hung a cutter to D. Freeze. BANG!!!! With one swing of the bat he tied it up 5 to 5. But I was not worried. No Sir, I was not....Ok I was really worried. They got me 1-2-3 in the Bottom of the 8th. So the Top of the 9th, bottom of the order coming up, So I was thinking we are going into extra on this game. Good thing I got a day off tomorrow. Got them 1-2-3 with Medina (He has been lights out lately). Bottom of the 9: They bring in J. Smith, (thought I hate sidearmers. I can never pick up a ball well). L. Morrison comes up throws me to fastballs high and tight. Brings the count 1-1. Next pitch a hanging Sinker ball. I started giggling like a little girl. BAM!!!! L. Morrison walk of home run. Man that was fun.

Just to let you know, my wife is pissed at you cause all I want to do when nothing is going on around the house is play my "Stupid Baseball game". Her words. I can't wait to play the next game to find out what happens now.
I just want to say is thank you I am have so much fun with these.

Errors: Angles (2): (1) Don't understand this error. Seager singled to LF and J.B. Shuck came up throwing D.Freeze missed the cut off and the ball went home and was able to get the runner out at the plate. So I think this was a glitch error cause I just don't see it. (2) Aybar throw the ball into the dirt and Pujols was unable to get dig it out. This error I see.

What time is it kids? No its not A's vs M's time. IT'S MILLER TIME! B. Miller was on fire this game cranking out 2 Home runs. A solo shot in the 1st inning then hitting a Grand Salami in the 2nd. You read it right, no BS. Back to back AB's with Home Runs in Back to Back Innings. I pour out to a 8 run lead by the 2nd inning and never looked back. Burned S. Gray once again. Man I wish he would pitch every game.

Errors: Mariners: (1) Came in the top of the 9th B. Miller booted and easy ground ball right at him. After the game he had I can understand the error. He was tired running from running the bases.
