H.O.F Sliders in the works.. Timing/Meter

Guys this game has made me re-open my OS account back up to chat with you guys. The Show 14 is gonna drive me to drink. Last few years I have been playing on Hall Of Fame with minor slider adjustments and loved it. I never dominated a season, never led the league in HR/ERA but the game was excellent to chase those dreams going into another season. This year on default is annoying. You can have control for a few batters and give a base hit up and a double or so and then miss the meter by a fraction and give up a HR. I don't mind giving up hrs but 4-6 a game is nuts. I've lowered the power to 2 and still giving up 2-3 HR. So it's getting close to being accurate as far as that goes but pitching is rough this year. I hate pulse pitching so I'm sticking with meter. I suck with zone hitting and I'm a ratings guy so I'll stick with timing for hitting.. Basically what I'm saying is I'm struggling as of 15-20 games in to find my happy place on HOF. Is anyone playing on HOF and if so what's your set look like to see if I'm getting close with mine.. I'll release mine with some stats tonight...

HOF pitching can be hard. For me, a lot of it is getting my mistake pitches (I play on Classic Pitching) to miss out of the zone more (like in the dirt, way inside, etc) instead of over the middle of the plate.

For the CPU hitting - I've seen what you described. I put their solid hits way down and timing, contact, and power down a notch or two. That allows them to jump on my pitchers if they have bad stuff that night or I make a bad decision in pitch selection, etc, but it still allows for the CPU to not destroy everything.

Human pitch control/consistency is a big one too. That seems to impact the chances of a hit maybe more than the CPU hitting sliders.

I have my Human pitching on 6/6 this year (was 6/9 last year, as I think pitchers in general are more accurate this year). Keep in mind, I play on Classic so I'm fighting randomness more than you are with Meter (in theory), so I don't know how/if that would do well with your play style.

CPU hitting, Contact/Power/Timing at 3 (though I am trying power on 2 to keep from weak hitters jacking the ball at will and hopefully it won't kill CPU offense totally) with solid hits at 1 or 2. I've also put contact at 4 and that can be okay as well - especially if you're getting too many K's, though you might need to up Human Control by one as well to keep from the "kill everything" effect.

Again, that's with Classic, so I don't know if similar would work for you, just sharing where I'm sitting right now.

Thanks for this. It has helped big time.. I have never tried classic but maybe I'll give it a shot one day. I played multiple games last night and I'm on to something special.. I went into extras against the cubs and pulled out a win on a bloop single. Pretty cool.. I'm posting what I have now.

You're not alone, I'm giving up a LOT of home runs this year. No idea what it is
