Yeah, the contact slider definitely needs to be up from 0 a little to cut down on the K's. Just not sure exactly where it should be as of yet. I'll experiment some, but let me know if you find a good setting.
I like the pitch speed & power at 14 as it seems to provide a realistic amount of homers. Before I was getting either too many or none at all. There still seem to be too many hits at times, but I guess I can live with that.

Ok..so I tried about 2 games just experimenting with contact all the way up and power down to about 3 or 4 (just to get an idea of what effect it has on the pitcher/batter interface). To my surprise, I still experienced a high number of K's. Furthermore, I did not see a HR in the game. Keep in mind that I brought the power slider down b/c when both contact & power is up, all the hit balls are like rockets. I figure that the contact/power setting must work on an inverse relationship (one up while the other is down). I've also tried moderating both around the halfway mark but after 3 innings I saw 8 strikeouts by Pavano against the opposing team (dont remember which team but it was one of the middle rated teams). I enjoy watching this game BUT the biggest pet peeve that i have is the strikeouts that apply to both teams per game. The dive thing in the infield is more tolerable. Thus the reason why i may switch back to MVP (for CPU v CPU matchups) is that I have more room to customize the entire experience (i.e. adjust contact and swing frequency for K's and adjust catch efort for dives). I will make my final decision by opening day (Sun). If u find a way to lessen the K's then let me know...thx

Someone on this forum mentioned that Pitch Speed was a big factor in K's. That person mentioned that if the Pitch Speed was maxed out or closer to the max, that he would strike out much less. I'm guessing that this is probably due to off-speed pitches being thrown faster making the difference in speed between fastballs & offspeed pitches much less. This is assuming that the fastball speed doesn't change or change much at all.

            Thanks,
            jawgee

I have the pitch speed maxed out all ready, so I dont think that this lessens the K's at all...

i dont think this is right, casue if you add pitch speed the fast ball r gonna be faster too..so oyu still have a diference btween pitches...i think that what helps add pitch speed id that people here are used to other games, and they were having a hard time adjustin the timing for this game...i was playing with pspeed at 15, but i was getting to many hits, so i came back to 10, so i get more fly/ground balls(cause of timming errors.)makes the game more realistic..

I found a remedy for the strikeouts. Just keep the pitch speed & contact on the same setting.

                        Try these:

                        Difficulty: Veteran

                        Pitch speed: 10

                        Contact: 10

                        Power: 13

                        Throwing strength: 9

                        Throwing accuracy: 9

In the in game options under presentation, there's an option for Cameras. Choose the "low" view. It's the best view if you're going to be watching CPU vs CPU. This view shows off how good the animations really look.

I actually enjoy the "wide" view - I get a better pan of the stadium...
