I set my pitching thing to Classic instead of Meter on rookie mode (can't wait till I get bumped up to Veteran in career mode so that I can experiment with the sliders here). Anyway, I'm noticing a couple pass balls/wild pitches too, but I find it really appropriate. The worst of it came when I had Tanyon Sturtze on the mound pitching to the Red Sox with two on and no outs. Pitches in the dirt, pitches too far outside, too far inside, etc. And it was really realistic, too. Sturtze isn't exactly the coolest head in baseball. I loved the nervousness!

wtf is classic?, do you just pick a pitch and throw with X?.

Yeah. You press and hold X to set the power of the pitch too. I've been hearing that it makes for more realistic games. I'm only into my third or fourth game with it though, so I can't make a good decision. It IS a lot harder to hit the strikezone though.

I'm using classic as well. Unless there's some sort of slider or tweak.. 2 to 3 passed balls every game is not realistic. Right now, this is my only complaint. I only play season mode so the Franchise AI issues don't effect me.

Still a lot of fun even w/ the passed balls, but I just hope there's a way to cut down on them while using the classic pitching interface.

Using more controllable pitches (I.E. avoiding curveballs, knucklers, etc. in high-clutch situations, especially if your pitcher's confidence is down). However, I've noticed the ball go into the dirt once or twice while using a two-seamer fastball.

Yep, just playing a game now and have had 4 wild pitches ( All on breaking balls - sliders especially)

The slider is especially wild, I've noticed. Don't use it on the outside part of the plate if it tails away from the batter. That often ends in disaster.

Yes, the slider IS wild... but notice this complaint is ONLY for the user... meaning some individuals aren't doing SOMETHING right... it's nowhere the problem that it is with ESPN, where the CPU is the one throwing all those passed balls. Yuck.
