My friends and I just started an online franchise yesterday. We are all American League teams and the designated hitter setting was left at Auto. My understanding was this would result in the DH being used in games played at American League parks and not being used in games at National League parks, as in real life.
However, after simulating the first four series of the season I'm noticing that all of the American League pitchers are hitting for themselves. All of my pitchers have multiple at bats and my DH only has 6 total at bats through four series.
Granted, one of my series was interleague at a National League park, but my starting pitchers have hit for themselves in all of the American League games I've played as well.
When I go to actually start a game to play myself, the correct lineup appears including the DH. So this only seems to effect simulated games. Has anyone had this happen or have any advice as to how to make the DH function correctly?
