A couple of the vets still get pretty hard, such as Chase Utley and Big Papi, but for the most part these rosters are regression-resistant by design. Partially that's done by having OVRs that are not inflated like most rosters. Part of it is maxing out POT for older guys. Utley and Papi drop into the mid to high 70s OVR after 1-2 seasons, which is still worthy of a 25-man roster spot and probably a starting role.

Just as heads up guys that Giancarlo Stanton batting stance is generic 1. He must have a hidden stance and maybe it was change at some point but when I was going over the NL for my set I noticed this and just wanted to let you guys know here.

Quick question...and I'm sorry, I know this is not a sliders topic, but thought I'd take a chance and ask for your input, since you know this roster set more than anyone else, and how it reacts.

I want to start a GM-only franchise, one in which I'll sim each and every game with the "Sportscast Manager" option. So, in order to get somewhat close individual stats at the end of the year, would you say I'd rather sim them with my usual "in-game" sliders, default, or it doesn't matter since it's sim only ?

Only a couple of sliders affecting simming with the injury slider being the big one that comes to mind. Just load your sliders once and they stay associated with the franchise file this year.

Really, truly, excellent rosters. Been going through the off-season, man, that is a pain getting through the off-season if you try to keep it at least somewhat realistic.

agreed, thats one thing i dislike about this game, tbh i wish the player progression was less aggressive, i wish it was similar to nhls or nbas style. this gets aggrivating.

I actually found that progression was not strong enough for my liking in some cases - but really that is what happens in real life - some guys stall or some guys blow expectations out of the water. My only issue with the offseason which has been an ongoing complaint for years is that you can't trade a player who is not under contract - for instance renewable contracts - that and you can't edit coaches to match new hires or maybe coaches you would like to have

tori hunter shouldnt drop to an 81 half way during the season doe. and neither should victor martinez, vic had a career year this past year lol.

maybe its not so much the player progression i dont like, but the realism OF that progression, at times it can be very questionable

maybe its not so much the player progression i dont like, but the realism OF that progression, at times it can be very questionable

In all of the tests I've run with this set Vmart, Torii Hunter, Paul Konerko etc all progressed in year one and didn't start declining until 2-4 years into franchise mode. Even players like RA Dickey and Tim Hudson progressed and when they regressed they didn't go into a steep decline. (this includes Hunter, Martinez, Konerko, Jeter, Hudson, Arroyo, Beckett) They only player that I saw (off the top of my head) decline was A.J. Pierzynski and he only dropped 3 points in overall rather than a steep 10-15 point decline you normally see with other rosters.

Has anyone had contract issue? On mine with the Giants, contracts wont take away a year....for example: Tim Hudson is signed for 2014 and 2015.....after the '14 season he ends up being signed thru 2016 at that point....anyone else notice this?

Definitely agree on the trades. Overall the game does alright save for a few really bad ones here and there but I'm noticing it is more of a budget problem--the game doesn't know how poor some teams are. Oakland, for instance, has about 40MM in room and keeps going after Scherzer or Lester. It also gives them too much of a discount for being a contender where Oakland is the front-runner for Scherzer at only 15MM AAV but my team would have to pay 23MM AAV to get him.

Benoit of the Padres took a nosedive but that was the only one I noticed as well.

You sure that your user profile is set up for manual contracts and not automatic?
